BOLT browser brings Indian Language support


BOLT is a feature rich mobile browser which supports a wide variety of phones . It supports both Flash and HTML5 video and comes with social network integration. Today BOLT announced that the BOLT browser supports Indic aka Indian regional languages in them. The users also can input the Indic fonts too. This is made possible by BOLT cloud computing browsing platform and  BOLT mobile browser with Indic language user interfaces,  to perfectly render Indic text on a Web page, and the ability for end users to input Indic text into the browser. BOLT 2.1 Available for Download

Bitstream the company behind the Bolt Mobile Browser has released the 2.1 version of it’s BOLT Browser which was in a Beta for sometime. What’s cool is that the company is claiming that the browser has the best mobile browser video support. If that’s true then its some serious competition for Skyfire.  This version has HTML5 Video support in addition to Flash. Bollywood sites such as hungama and bollywoodhungama are supported.

Bolt 1.7 to support widgets

Bitstream Inc, the company behind Bolt Browser, today announced that the upcoming version of its BOLT mobile browser viz Bolt 1.7 will include the ability to run Web applications, more commonly referred to as “widgets”. The new BOLT Browser with widgets will be introduced in beta as a part of the upcoming BOLT v1.7, which will be on display at the Mobile World Congress on Feb 15, 2010. Bolt Mobile Browser crosses 100 million pageviews

We already told you about BOLT mobile browser which is quite popular in India with one out of six users from India. Now BOLT Browser has another feather on its cap – 100 million pageviews ! It has successfully rendered more than 100 million pages to users across the  globe. This has happened in just 6 months and just demostrates the power of the mobile web and that mobile internet usage is picking up even in developing countries.

Skyfire Mobile Browser gets out of Beta!

Skyfire – One of the best internet browser for mobile phones have now got even better as it has come out of beta stage and the final version of the browser has been released.

Well, the final version of the browser was out this week, and since then we were trying our hands on the browser.Initially after upgrading to the latest version of the browser, we faced issues logging into sites and loading the browser screen but a soft reset of the phone solved the problem. India on the map again: 1 in 6 BOLT users is INDIAN!

That India is a humungous cell phone market is sort of old news now.

Touted to be one of the fastest growing mobile markets of the world (a DoT study shows we should be about a billion mobile users by 2014), it will come as no surprise that Indians have arrived on the mobility telcom map.
