Broadcom, today announced the industry’s first Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) system-on-chip (SoC), BCM4771 for low-power wearable devices such as smart watches and fitness trackers. We had already seen Intel Edison, a 22nm ultra-small computer based on Quark technology. The Broadcom SoC is based on 40nm process technology and has sensor hub that integrates sensor inputs, location capabilities, wireless connectivity and more.
