Japan Display Inc (JDI) has announced that it has commenced mass production of IPS-NEO panels for mobile products. IPS-NEO panels are characterized by higher contrast displays and consistent color reproduction through wide viewing angles.

The LG Optimus Black which we got our hands on at Mobile World Congress has been available in India for some time now and now we have official confirmation of the launch with LG calling it the World’s Brightest Smartphone. The device is priced at Rs.20990 MRP and is available for around Rs.19990 in the market. The specialty of the Optimus Black is the 4 inch NOVA IPS LCD Display. Samsung Flexible Mobile AMOLED Display Pics

Samsung unveiled a 4.5-inch WVGA Flexible AMOLED display at CES 2011. The display is about  2mm thick and is flexible. The AMOLED runs at a 800 x 480 resolution (WVGA) and can be rolled down to a one centimeter radius. Sounds pretty awesome right ? Take a look at the pics for the proof.

Review: iPhone 4 Retina Display vs Samsung SuperAMOLED Display

The phone display is something we stare at constantly every day. We were blown away by the Samung Super AMOLED display when we saw the same at Mobile World Congress this year.Then came the Retina display from Apple on the new iPhone 4. Nokia N85 vs N82 – Part 2 : OLED vs LCD

The 2nd part of our Nokia N85 vs N82 comparison tackles the N85’s biggest addition: the OLED display. OLED which stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode bring a new technology to the N85’s screen removing the small light bulbs from underneath it, and thus allowing for more accurate color renditions, darker blacks and a better contrast. Here is a comparison of the same image being displayed on the N82 (regular LCD screen) and the N85 (OLED screen).

When we are fighting to share limelight and craving to be noticed only way to do it is to prove to be different. So does a company that has suffered tremendous losses thrive to be up and coming, it can be achieved only by inventing something new. Well that is what is going about in the Motorola camp.

Motorola has recently filed patents for a rollable cell phone display. It seems that this new display will feature “an interface that is made of a flexible material and has an active and inactive position. The interface is coupled with a reservoir. The reservoir is used for storing electrorheological fluid. The user interface system also includes a source that is coupled to the reservoir.
