Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides for Android gets Material Design and new features

Google is slowly updating all of its homegrown app with the latest Material Design look from Android 5.0. Today, the company is bringing the Material Design to Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides on Android. We have already seen the Material Design update for Play Store, Play Music and Play Movies and TV.

Google updates Drive with Microsoft Office editing and more new features

Google announced several updates and enhancements to Drive at the I/O developer conference. For starters, users can edit Microsoft Office files through the cloud-based platform. This mean users can view, create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations on both mobile devices and the desktop in their native format.

Google Drive for Android updated with redesigned UI

Google released its stock email app on Play Store earlier today and now it has added some tweaks to the Drive app on Android. The cloud storage app from Google gets fresh look with a new animation which was earlier light blue. A new document creation shortcut has been added  in the floating bar at the bottom of the screen.

Las Vegas, NV, USA – Today, a group of the industry’s leading wireless and entertainment companies announced the formation of new organization created to promote the growth and evolution of Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld (DVB-H), an open procedure standard for broadcast digital TV reception on mobile devices. The organization, called the Mobile DTV Alliance, includes representatives from Intel Corporation, Modeo [NYSE: CCI], Motorola [NYSE: MOT], Nokia [NYSE: NOK] and Texas Instruments (TI) [NYSE: TXN].
