Dropbox for iOS 8 updated with notification center, shared folders and more

Last week Apple released iOS 8, its latest operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.  Soon after the release, an array of apps were modified to work more efficiently on the iOS 8 mobile devices. Dropbox has joined the league of such apps and updated its app for iOS 8.

Dropbox acquires IM platform Droptalk

Dropbox has scooped up instant messaging startup Droptalk for an undisclosed sum. The startup enables users to send links privately via Chrome extensions along with and chats. Droptalk which was also working on Android and iOS app will shut down as a result of the acquisition and will not accepting new signups. Dropbox acquires 3D photo-stitching app Bubbli

With an aim to enhance its photo offerings further, Dropbox has acquired Bubbli for an undisclosed sum. It is a 3D photo startup that enables users to create 360-degree photo “bubbles,” with sound. In other words the app incorporates 3D technology into 2D photos.

Dropbox acquires startups Loom and Hackpad

In a bid to strengthen its offerings, Dropbox has acquired two start-ups. Firstly, the cloud storage company has bought photo-sharing company Loom Inc. and document-sharing startup Hackpad Inc. The move comes from Dropbox a week after launching their first Gallery app Carousel for Android and iPhone. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
