Microsoft Edge which debuted in 2015 was designed to be fast, lightweight, and secure, however, it never saw the success the company wanted. Connectivity settings on Symbian have been Achilles heel for the platform ever since EDGE and then 3G and WiFi were introduced to mobile phones. At first, it was each app that wanted to connect and kept nagging you with a popup. Then Destinations were ushered in S60 3rd FP2, making it possible to seamlessly switch between a data connection and WiFi, but you still had to approve connectivity and pick a Destination for each app. Then, on Symbian^1 and 3, something awesome was introduced to help with that: a default “Internet” destination and connections could happen without your approval. Except, like I said in my N8 review, it ended up being an absolute nightmare.

Airtel and Hutch are coming up with Zero Rental GPRS service as pointed out by Mobile Pundit.
Airtel Chennai offers a zero-rental GPRS service for its post-paid customers at pay-per-use rate of Re 1 per 100 kilobytes. Which works out to Rs 10 per 1MB.
Hutch is also planning to bring out something similar.
Its great news for those people who wish to try the service but not willing to shell out a monthly rental.

Sony Ericsson announced today the W810 Walkman – the successor of the popular W800 model.
Sony Ericsson announced today the W810 Walkman – the successor of the popular W800 model. The black Walkman now has EDGE, the lack of this technology in most Sony Ericsson products was widely criticized. The new W810 is quad-band, while the older model is tri-band only. The phone has a light sensor for the keypad backlight, new button layout, an activity button (plus the Walkman button), but has been cut of the internal memory, which is now only 20 MB. Not to worry though – 512 MB card will be included in the package. The other features remain the same as in the older model – 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, Memory Stick Duo Pro card slot, MP3 player, FM radio with RDS, 262K colors TFT display with 176×220 pixels resolution.
It is expected that the W810 will be on the market soon, in the Q1 of 2006.
