Facebook is already the homepage on the desktops of most people and with Facebook Home, it is trying to stamp its authority even in the smartphone segment. Facebook has updated the Facebook Home app for Android that brings a favorites tray that shows a row of apps at the bottom of every screen in the app launcher. You press and hold the app icon you want to move and drag it in or out of the favorites tray. You can also rearrange the placement of the apps within the favorites tray. Facebook Home crosses 500,000 downloads
Facebook has been trying to make its mark in the mobile segment for a while now with both hardware partnerships and software based offerings. Its latest attempt, Facebook Home, has been downloaded over 500,000 times within the span of a week. The application works as a replacement homescreen, lockscreen and app launcher with a heavy focus on Facebook content. This number pales in comparison to Instagram which brought in 1 million downloads in under 24 hours.

The Facebook Home was announced last week, and the HTC First is the first device to come pre-loaded with Facebook Home launcher. Facebook Home hands on impressions
Facebook Home, the launcher aimed at overtaking your Android phone has just leaked out in a half baked beta release. We took it for a spin on our Google Nexus 4, and found it to be quite buggy, but using the UI for the first time was a fresh experience. So, what do we think about the Facebook home? Facebook Home brings the social network to your Android homescreen
Facebook today announced its brand new Android Launcher called Facebook Home which will serve as a gateway to the social network’s services. The launcher is meant to replace the default skin on your Android device and hooks in with Facebook centric services. While we are all waiting for the Facebook’s Android related event on April 4th, Android Police has got hold of the rumored Facebook phone’s ROM that reveals details about the HTC Myst Facebook phone and the new app called Facebook Home.
