Samsung launched a new brand of cameraphone with the original Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom last year. Definitely things did not go as Samsung expected with the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Last year, Samsung just added a bulky camera unit to a mid-range smartphone and used the then flagship – Galaxy S4 moniker to sell it. But this year, Samsung seems to have actually added something to the device and taken the flagship branding away. We will be checking out the hands on comparison with its predecessor – Galaxy S4 Zoom and also with other smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Nokia 808 PureView are somewhat similar products, with both the devices aimed at cameraphone enthusiasts looking at packing the best camera on a phone. While the approach taken by the two companies are largely different, the intention remains the same. One has added phone features to a point and shoot camera, while the other has added a point and shoot level camera on a phone. We had went hands on with the device earlier and even unboxed it to show you the first glimpse of what this hybrid device is all about. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Unboxing

We have an exclusive unboxing of the just announced Samsung Galaxy  S4 Zoom camera phone first on FoneArena which was showcased at an event in London last month where we got a hands on this super-sized camera phone.The S4 Zoom is basically a Galaxy S4 mini with a zoom lens attached to it on the back. It looks like a phone from the front but the moment you get a glimpse of that 10x zoom lens on the back, you just can’t continue to think of the Galaxy S4 zoom as a phone, it feels more like a mini version of the Galaxy Camera which was launched last year.The main difference between the two is that the S4 Zoom can make phone calls while the Galaxy Camera can’t.  We got hold of the retail package from the Middle-East and here is a look at the device and the package contents. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom 16MP camera phone, S4 Activ and S4 mini to be announced in May?


Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S4 Zoom (SM-C1010) with a 16-megapixel camera at the end of this month, according to a report from Sammobile. This would be the company’s first camera phone. Samsung already launched the Galaxy Camera with a 17 Megapixel sensor that can capture images at 16.3 Megapixel resolution. The S4 Zoom would hav a similar sensor, 4.3-inch qHD SAMOLED display, instead of a 4.8-inch 720p Super Clear Touch Display and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS with Samsung’s own Touchwiz interface with Nature UX. It would have  8 GB of memory, MicroSD up to 64 GB, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and  A-GPS.
