Samsung has finally started sending out press invites to an Unpacked event being held in a months’ time on Sunday 1st March 2015 in Barcelona.
The event, which takes place on the Sunday before MWC 2015 officially begins, is likely to see the launch of the Galaxy S6 and the invite points to a Curved Design suggesting we’ll also see a curved edge smartphone announced. Samsung Galaxy S6 variant to come with dual edge display: Report
New day new report about the Samsung Galaxy S6. Today, SamMobile is stating that the Galaxy S6 variant will have a two edge display resembling the one side edge display on Note Edge.
The Galaxy S6 that has the model number SM-G925 is being called as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge for now. If the phone becomes a reality, the phone will be like the Note Edge only with curved edges on both the sides instead of one. The phone will utilize similar interface for its side panels similar to the Note Edge. It will have the ability to display panels from Yahoo! Finance, news, sports, a briefing panel, and even a pedometer panel. It will also display favorite apps, contacts, and more specially designed apps will be created and available for download via Samsung’s app store.
It is also said that Samsung will allow users to customize contacts with specific colors so that their notifications appear more prominently on the edge. The Glance Lighting feature will allow for the edges to light up whenever there’s an incoming call. Yesterday, it was reported that the Galaxy S6 will opt for a touch based fingerprint scanner instead of swipe based.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Exynos variant likely to sport a Cat.10 LTE modem
Samsung is working on a faster LTE chip of its own, which could be used in the Galaxy S6. According to the Korean media, Samsung will ship a Cat 10 LTE modem in its devices next year.
The modem could be arriving in Samsung’s Galaxy S6 smartphone, or at least in the international version, which will come with the company’s Exynos SoC. This 3 band LTE Cat. 10 compatible chipset will reportedly be capable of providing speeds of up to 450 Mbps according to the report. This is higher than the maximum 300Mbps speed of the current LTE Cat. 6 standard.
Qualcomm has already announced that it is working on Cat. 10 LTE modem called as the Gobi 9×35 but as per the official specifications, it is not being used in the Snapdragon 810 processor. South Korean mobile operator LG U+ is also developing a tri-band LTE network that could support theoretical speeds of 450Mbps. It is unclear if this new Cat.10 modem will be manufactured by other companies or by Samsung itself.
