Google has introduced two new features for Gmail. The new block feature lets you block specific email addresses and the unsubscribe option will enable you to opt out of eligible mailing lists directly from the Gmail app, which comes handy for unnecessary newsletters. Once you block someone, future emails from them will directly go to spam folder, skipping inbox, but you can unblock them anytime from the Settings. Gmail for Android, iPhone and iPad to get new Inbox tabs
Google has announced an update for the Gmail app for Android, iPhone and iPad that bring new Inbox with tabs and categories. Incoming mails are classified into categories such as Promotions, Social and Updates. You can choose to use categories as inbox tabs, and as labels. This would let you view mails that are important to you and read messages of a similar type. You can use both the Inbox categories and labs separately.

Gmail for Android v4.2 to bring pinch-to-zoom and Swipe to delete features
Android Police has got hold of the upcoming Gmail for Android app version 4.2. Looks like this would be a major update from the existing version of the Gmail for Android version 4.1.2. The upcoming Gmail for Android update is expected to bring the most expected pinch-to-zoom feature and a new swipe to archive or delete feature to quickly delete or archive a mail from you inbox or sent. You can also disable this feature from the settings, or make it to only delete when you swipe or archive and delete. It also removes the labels when you’re in a label-only view. Gmail for Android v2.3.5 update brings custom notifications for labels
Gmail for Android has been updated to version 2.3.5. This version brings new features that include, custom notifications and ringtones for specific labels in your inbox, sync only priority mail to save bandwidth and lots more. It’s been months since the app got updated, and the previous version was 2.3.4 that was launched this February.
