Google has announced advertisments on Google Maps app. When you search for a place on Google Maps, relevant ads now appear at the bottom of the screen in the search result. This comes as new paid click type that lets users tap or swipe upward on an ad to see more information about a business. It also shows directions, share with a friend, and more.
