Google today announced that it has rolled out of Railwire Wi-Fi at Udhagamandalam (Ooty), which is 100th railway station to get its Wi-Fi services in India, as it had promised. “With over 5 million monthly users, the Google Railtel Wifi is helping millions of Indians discover the benefits of Internet with 15000 first time users connecting to the network everyday,” said the company. Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu today launched free RailWire WiFi in eight Mumbai Suburban Railway Stations – Churchgate, Bandra, Bandra Terminus, Dadar Western Railway, Dadar Central Railway, Khar Road, Kalyan and Lokmanya Tilak. Indian Railways, RailTel and Google have launched free WiFi in three more stations – Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Kachiguda (Telangana) & Raipur (Chhattisgarh) in India.
