Google has bagged a deal to provide WiFi across Pune via its Google Station initiative. The company has received WiFi deal for the Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) under which it will offer fast speed WiFi hotspots in the city. Google Railwire Wi-Fi now available at 100 railway stations across India
Google today announced that it has rolled out of Railwire Wi-Fi at Udhagamandalam (Ooty), which is 100th railway station to get its Wi-Fi services in India, as it had promised. “With over 5 million monthly users, the Google Railtel Wifi is helping millions of Indians discover the benefits of Internet with 15000 first time users connecting to the network everyday,” said the company. Google Station platform to bring Wi-Fi hotspots to public places in India
Earlier this year Google partnered with Indian Railways and RailTel to launch RailWire free WiFi across railway stations in India, which is now present across 52 stations in the country. Today at the Google for India event the company announced Google Stations, a new internet access platform for partners to setup, maintain and monetize their Wi-Fi networks in their places with Google Fiber.
