Eyefi adds wireless transfer support for GoPro and Olympus cameras
Eyefi has long been the go-to solution for users wanting to add wireless capabilities to their cameras but it has required users to purchase one of their own WiFi enabled SD cards. Google announces new VR platform called Jump – GoPro ‘Jumps’ on board with their 360 degree camera array
Google has just announced its new open source VR platform. They are teaming up with GoPro to bring a 16 camera array that is capable of shooting 360 degree 3D videos.

But there is one department where it is yet to enter and that is the drone market. In a bid to make a mark in virtual reality market, GoPro has scooped up virtual reality company Kolor for an undisclosed sum. The France based company’s solutions help users combine multiple photographs or videos to produce high-res panoramic or shperical content that are an essential component of virtual reality technology.

Xiaomi has announced a low cost GoPro like camera that is called as Yi Action Camera. The waterproof portable camera is priced at 399 CNY i.e $64 and is currently available only in China.
Felix Baumgartner’s jump captured through GoPro’s cameras in its SuperBowl commercial
SuperBowl has been the most lucrative ad-spot in the United States for many years, known for its highest TRPs and naturally insanely priced ad-slots. The massive event is usually full of noteworthy or weird ads, depending on how you see it, and companies try to capture the little time they get on one of the biggest country wide sporting events. This time, amongst many, GoPro, the popular adventure camera manufacturer, has released its ad, featuring Felix Baumgartner’s stratospheric jump. The mission, called “Red Bull Stratos” was a hugely popular stunt featuring the Austrian man, who survived a 24 mile high free fall from near-outer-space. The event, captured by GoPro cameras, is the company’s stab at the SuperBowl spot, watch it here –

Video: Downhill Action with the Nokia Lumia 920 GoPro Chest Harness
A week ago I have received a package with something very cool inside. In the package I have a found a custom-built Nokia Lumia 920 case, made of Plexiglass, built on a GoPro chest harness. It’s probably no secret that I’m the unsportiest person in Austria, so I’ve contacted my friend Gernot Lambeck, a huge downhill biking fan. He agreed to give this a try, and so we met last weekend for some action in a nearby forest. With the OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) built inside the Lumia 920, Nokia promises a great video experience even in difficult situations. Blasting through a forest on a bike would probably be “difficult”, and I was looking forward to see how the 920 handled the abuse.
