Amazon is planning to open grocery stores in India, according to a latest report from the New York Times. The initiative is internally code-named as Project Everest, added the report. Amazon is expected to open its first grocery store in Bangalore.

Amazon has taken wraps off Amazon Go, a new kind of grocery store that eliminates the checkout process. The US based retail giant has opened its first Amazon Go store in Seattle that allows customers to just shop for the item they want and leave without waiting in a checkout line.
