Google just announced that it is introducing Hangouts Chat as a core service in the Gsuite. The Hangouts Chat service will launch by default on unless you’ve chosen to opt for new services manually. Gsuite users can have direct and group conversations to collaborate easily and efficiently. It was announced back in March last year and takes on Slack. Google is streamlining Hangouts experience for users. The company has announced that it will shut down Google Talks aka Gtalk/GChat feature in Gmail on June 26 and it will be replaced with Hangouts. Users will be will automatically be transitioned to Hangouts.

Google has just released a new version of Hangouts for iOS devices. The Hangouts v4.0 brings in a new design that follows Google’s Material Design along with several bug fixes and performance improvements.
Google Hangouts joins the elite club of apps that has crossed 1 Billion downloads on the Play Store. Till today, there have been ten apps that have crossed the milestone out of which 3 of them were Facebook apps while the other 7 were Google’s own apps.
