HarmonyOS arrives for smartphones — New features and list of devices that will get the update

HUAWEI today announced HarmonyOS 2.0 at its event earlier today bringing the company’s own OS to smartphones, tablets and smartwatch after the beta release last year, and this is reportedly a forked Android, but HUAWEI says that it is based on open source project OpenHarmony 2.0. It has a tag line “One As All, All As One”, and the company says that the new operating system offers cross-device communication and innovative features such as service widgets, new control panel, and a superior performance for all-round superior performance, with powerful security management. HUAWEI to introduce HarmonyOS for smartphones and tablets along with new products on June 2

HUAWEI introduced HarmonyOS back in 2019 and the HarmonyOS 2.0 was introduced in September 2020 and also confirmed that HarmonyOS will be coming to smartphones. Today it has announced a global launch event on June 2nd in which it will introduce the HarmonyOS for smart devices such as phones and tablets and also launch new products that will run the HarmonyOS. HUAWEI smartwatches, speakers and more to run HarmonyOS in 2020

HUAWEI, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is planning to load its propriety HarmonyOS to more devices in 2020 that won’t include its smartphones. HarmonyOS was developed as a possible alternative to Android as HUAWEI face trade restrictions from the US government for technologies from there.

HUAWEI announces HarmonyOS open source operating system for smartphones and smart devices

HUAWEI just announced HarmonyOS, the company’s own operating system for smartphones, tablets and smart IoT devices such as smart speakers, computers, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, cars and more.
