Motorola Xoom Price Confirmed; $799 For 3G, $600 For Wi-Fi Only

Sanjay Jha, CEO of Motorola Mobility, recently confirmed to the press at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona that, the company will sell its first tablet device, without any contract for $799.

Last month, Motorola launched its much-awaited Xoom tablet at CES 2011 in Las Vegas. Motorola Xoom is the first tablet device powered by the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system. Google is rumored to launch its web-based Android Market and Google Music tomorrow at the Android 3.0 Honeycomb event in Google Headquarters. Google Music will allow you to upload your music collections to Google’s servers and then synchronize them with any mobile device.

Motorola XOOM – the Android Honeycomb tablet from Motorola does surely have some impressive specs.  But the tablet might not come cheap and will reportedly carry a minimum advertised price of $799 USD according to a document from Android Central. This might be the cost of the unsubsidized , unlocked version of the XOOM. While the tablet has been announced only for Verizon ,  it should be available on other networks too. Motorola’s website just confirmed that that Tablet they are going to announce in a few minutes is the XOOM

The name was spotted on the coming soon page of the website. Looking from the screenshot , it’s clear that the tablet is running on Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

It is rumored to be running on Verizon’a LTE network

According to the rumors, Android Honeycomb will not only require a high resolution display with minimum requirement up to 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, but it will also require a dual core processor.
