Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Vs Huawei Ascend Mate

Huawei was the first company to step into the 6inch + phablet category with Ascend Mate. The Huawei Ascend Mate was announced way back in January during the CES 2013, but the phablet has been available in India only since June. Samsung’s biggest phablet until the Mega series arrived was their Galaxy Note 2 with a 5.5inch display that we compared with the Ascend Mate recently. To expand the phablet portfolio and to compete in the larger phablet race, Samsung launched two new phablets – Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 .

Huawei Ascend Mate Benchmarks

Huawei Ascend Mate-4

Huawei launched the Ascend Mate with a 6.1-inch HD display in India earlier today. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier today, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Ascend Mate is powered by a the Huawei’s own K3v2 processor developed by HiSilicon Technologies from Huawei. It has four 4 ARM Cortex A9 cores based on ARMv7 architecture. The chip is based on 40nm technology. It has a 16-core Vivante GC4000 GPU. Huawei uses the same CPU and the GPU in the Media Pad FHD.

Huawei Ascend Mate Unboxing-1

The Huawei Ascend Mate was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January and has then evaded the Indian market until now. Today, the company has launched its ambitious phablet device with a massive 6.1 inch screen at a price tag of Rs. 24,900, just weeks after Samsung continued their trend of releasing phablet devices with the Galaxy Mega series. The Indian market seems to have likened to the big screen phenomena and the Ascend Mate is hoping to address at least a part of it. The device just landed in our labs and here is our ritualistic unboxing video below –

Huawei has launched the Ascend Mate, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone in India. It went on sale online few days back. It has a  6.1-inch 720p display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It features magic touch technology that would let you use the phone even with gloves. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s Emotion UI 1.5 on top. Huawei Ascend Mate now available in India for Rs. 28900


Huawei Ascend Mate, the company’s latest flagship smartphone is now available in India from online retailer Infibeam. It was spotted on Flipkart along with a price tag earlier this week, but the page was removed later. It packs a 6.1-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s EmotionUI 1.5 on top. We got you the hands-on photo gallery of the Ascend Mate from the event earlier this month, here is the hands-on video of the device. The phone is huge in the hand and features a 6.1-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It features magic touch technology that would let you use the phone even with gloves. Huawei Ascend Mate hands on Photo Gallery

Huawei unveiled the Ascend Mate along with the Ascend D2 earlier today at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. The Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display unlike the Ascend D2 that has a 5-inch 1080p display. But the Ascend Mate has a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the D2. Huawei launches the 6.1 inch Ascend Mate at CES

Huawei has now arrived to the phablet party in a size that rivals the Galaxy Note II. Along with the Ascend D2, Huawei’s flagship device, the Ascend Mate has been announced at the Huawei CES press conference. The 6.1 Ascend Mate has a 720p screen and the same K3V3 1.5 GHz quad core processor that is produced in house, by Huawei. And even more amazing is the fact that the gigantic 6.1 inch display is supported by a huge 4050 mAH battery.
