HUAWEI Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro sales cross 10 million units globally

Huawei has announced that the sales of HUAWEI Mate 20 series that includes the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro have crossed 10 million units globally since it was launched in October last year. It took just just 5 months to achieve this feat, same as the P20 series. Unlike the P20 series, the company did not announce any new color variants of the phone to celebrate this. Huawei has launched its flagship Mate 20 Pro smartphone at an event in India, as it had promised.  It has a 6.39-inch QHD+ OLED DCI-P3 HDR display with 86.90 screen-to-body ratio,  powered by Kirin 980 7nm SoC with Dual NPU, runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on top, has an in-display fingerprint scanner with 10-level Dynamic Pressure Sensing (DPS) technology and 3D Face Unlock as well as 3D Live Emoji and AI live model.

Update – November 21: Huawei has confirmed that it will launch its flagship Mate 20 Pro smartphone in India on November 27th. According to the teaser, it looks like it will be selling the phone and Sennheiser PXC550 Wireless Headphones bundle. It already said that the phone will be launched exclusively on Amazon.in.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro with 6.39-inch QHD+ OLED HDR display, Leica Triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor and Mate 20 announced

Huawei today announced its flagship Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones at an event in London, as it had promised. Both these have OLED DCI-P3 HDR Displays, but the Mate 20 Pro comes with 6.39-inch QHD+ screen with 86.90 screen-to-body ratio, while the Mate 20 comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ screen with 88.07% screen-to-body ratio. These are powered by Kirin 980 7nm SoC with Dual NPU and run Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on top. The Mate 20 Pro has an in-display fingerprint scanner with 10-level Dynamic Pressure Sensing (DPS) technology and 3D Face Unlock as well as 3D Live Emoji and AI live model that lets you record it moving and dancing on your desk. Huawei Mate 20 Pro with Leica triple rear cameras surface in Twilight, Blue and Black colors

Huawei is all set to introduce its flagship Mate 20 series of smartphones that includes the Mate 20 Pro with triple rear Leica cameras on October 16. Now the press renders of the smartphone has surfaced in Twilight, Blue and Black colors. The phone is also expected to come in Green color variant. This reveals a large notch, compared to the waterdrop notch on the Mate 20, probably to house sensors for 3D face unlock.

Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro with full-screen display, Kirin 980 7nm SoC to be announced on October 16

Huawei at the IFA 2018 announced its flagship Kirin 980 7nm SoC with dedicated dual neural network processing units. At the end of the event it also confirmed that the Mate 20 series – Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro powered by Kirin 980 will be announced at an event in London on October 16th, same date as last year’s Mate 10 series.
