Swype , the extremely popular keyboard replacement for Android amongst other operating systems is getting a major update soon. The application which currently doesn’t support the latest version of Android ie ICS will include support for the OS in the latest update.
Lenovo introduced one of the most well built and feature packed Android tablets last year based on the Honeycomb operating system. Since then Google has rolled out Android 4.0 ie Ice Cream Sandwich which brings several tablet specific enhancements like native support for stylus input which already comes with the Thinkpad tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is actually a sweet device and currently the only one in the world according to my knowledge to run on Android 4.0 also known as ICS. The Galaxy Nexus is the 3rd member of the Nexus family of devices from Google and it is a c0-branded handset from Google and Samsung which runs on stock Android without any customization. The device was supposed to be launched in November last year and was postponed to December. Now more bad news as Samsung India’s official account tweeted that the device will now be tentatively launched in March. Still no definitive date though. Having used the Galaxy Nexus for around a month now , I actually like the device for a few things – Ice Cream Sandwich , it will be the first device to get Android updates as it is pushed directly by Google. The Camera is also incredibly fast.One thing i dislike about the device is the low quality of build materials used. Each time I open the back cover, I have a feeling it will break. Android 4.0 was launched and announced in October and the first device to feature it was Google’s own Galaxy Nexus, and in December Nexus S got an upgrade to Android 4.0. Besides these two devices there are some other devices from other manufacturers running Ice Cream Sandwich unofficially through custom ROMs, through Google’s monthly report we have come to know that 0.6% of all the devices are running Android 4.0 which actually means that around 13 million to 15 million devices are running Andriod 4.0.

Word is that the DROID 4 from Motorola will come to Verizon by 22nd December (as it has now mustered the FCC); optimistically, Santa knows what I want. As confirmation that Verizon is preparing to unleash the Motorola Droid 4, this screenshot is from the DridDoes.com web page with a link to the Droid 4, on the Droid 3 web page. We may even see this slide-out QWERTY 4G LTE baby foregoing the Galaxy Nexus, and this wouldn’t astonish me at all. Ultimately, this would be an element of the Droid 4 web page.
Today’s astonishing bulletin comes from Huawei; it just unleashed a “demo build” of the ICS update for their phone-Huawei Honor. It has been more than a month since the source code of ICS has been released and the manufacturers get the code even before that but all the major manufacturers have just let us down by telling us that it will take time for them to update their devices to ICS, while Huawei Honor which is a low budget phone from an average manufacturer gets the first look, Really?
