Instagram launches Hyperlapse app for iPhone and iPad to capture time lapse videos

Instagram Hyperlapse

Instagram has launched Hyperlapse, a new app to capture high-quality time lapse videos even while in motion. It uses built-in stabilization technology to capture time lapses when you are just holding the device in your hand. You can choose playback speed between 1x-12x. The app doesn’t require you to create an instagram account.

Instagram 6.0 to bring advanced editing features, compete with VSCO Cam

Instagram’s focus so far has been on simplicity and while the company did start building in more features, the focus still remained on the 18 filters built in. Instagram, now owned by Facebook, has been able to build a huge community by leveraging this simplicity. Now it is about to take a step forward by adding in extensive editing controls.

Instagram 6.0, set to roll out over the next few days for both iOS and Android, will let you adjust contrast, saturation, warmth, brightness, highlights, shadows, vignettes and sharpness in all photos. This brings it right in line with some of the more advanced editing applications out there. Tapping the tool brings up a slider that you can use to make adjustments on a 100 point scale. This works across all the variables involved. Additionally, Instagram 6.0 also allows you to adjust filter strength which is something that can come in extremely handy depending on the image involved. Instagram BETA now available for Windows Phone 8 devices, no video support yet

Easily the most awaited app launch for Windows Phone is here. Yes, Instagram is now available for download on the Windows Phone 8 platform. It has been conveniently labeled a “BETA” as it most definitely lacks video support at launch, but if the developers at Instagram are to be believed, the new feature are coming in fast, so there’s no reason to worry. Just ahead of the holiday season, it’s good that Windows Phone finally has the most wanted app, even though in a public BETA, on it’s store.

Hipstamatic Oggl and Oggl Pro bring Instagram sharing to Windows Phone

As reported earlier, Hipstamatic went on stage with Nokia at the Lumia 925 launch event and announced that they are bringing their currently iPhone exclusive Hipstamatic Oggl app to Windows Phone 8 devices from Nokia. Popular for its filters and the funky UI, the app remains the only official solution to post directly to instagram. But Hipstamatic does have its own community too and that’s called Oggl. The free Oggl app includes five pre-set lenses and films, and the ability to edit and share photos to Oggl, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The app is now available on the Windows Phone Store and you can get it here.

Instagram for Windows Phone might go official soon, hinted by @InstagramWP twitter account

Only today did Nokia announce a new app in partnership with hipastamatic, which co-incidentally could share photos to Instagram. But as a surprise, we spotted this @InstagramWP account – which claims to be the official twitter account for THE official Instagram client for Windows Phone. While trying to check the credibility, we found that the official Nokia account was actually its first follower, adding more clarification to our doubts. So, yes, the official Instagram app for Windows Phone might be just around the corner then, yay?

Hipstamatic brings Instagram sharing to the Nokia Lumia

We are live from the Nokia Lumia 925 event in London, and Nokia just announced, along with the Lumia 925 that Hipstamatic, a popular photo sharing app on iOS, is coming to Windows Phone and it is going to be one of the first official apps on the Windows phone store that can share directly to your instagram account. The app is called Hipstamatic Oggl and has various filters and a beautiful camera UI, with features you would expect from a photo filters app. This app recently launched in iOS and it is now on Windows Phone already. It has its own community and that’s the term “Oggl” refers to, you can share, like and comment on pictures.

Instagram updated for iPhone 5, removes live filters

Instagram, the most loved photo app/social network, which debuted on the iPhone, has been updated for the latest and the greatest iPhone, the iPhone 5. It adds support for the taller screen, meaning the resolution of the app is now 1136X640. While you are now able to see more of the app, weirdly, they have removed support for live filters. Instagram opens sign up page for Android users

The long awaited version of Instagram for Android is right around the corner as was revealed by co-founder Kevin Systrom at SXSW. In anticipation for the impending release , Instagram has opened up a sign up page so that Android users will be notified as soon as the app goes live on the store.

Instagram is an incredibly popular photo sharing service which lets users apply filters to images. Used by over 27 million users, the service has so far been an iOS exclusive. Systrom has previously claimed that the Android app is even better than the much lauded iOS application. There is no set date for the application to go live but you can sign up at the link below to be informed about it as soon as it does.

Instagram called “iPhone App Of The Year” by Apple

Apple unveiled its iTunes Rewind 2011 today. iTunes Rewind is Apple’s annual listing of the top applications. Under Apple’s Editorial picks,  photo manipulation and sharing app Instagram won the ‘iPhone App Of The Year’ award.
