The year 2013 has been great for the smartphone market, especially the Indian smartphone market. The year 2013 saw the rise of numerous Indian manufactures thanks to “open-source” Android operating system. Towards the end of 2012, only Karbonn and Micromax had established their grip in the mid-range smartphone segment with value for money smartphones. The year 2013 helped the Indian manufacturers expand their market share by offering Full HD display smartphones with Quad-core processors for affordable price points.

Intex Aqua i7 Review

The mid range smartphone market in India is insanely competitive to say the least. We have been seeing tons of companies make affordable phones with some of the specifications that are usually only reserved for the top end phones. But due to the same cut throat competition, we have also been seeing many similar devices, with common attributes like the display and the chipset. In that sense, the current market trend is this – a 5 inch 1080p display and a MediaTek 6589T processor. The Gionee Elife E6, the Micromax Canvas Turbo and of course, the Intex Aqua i7 are all part of this trend, improving upon the 720p screen based phones earlier. But is it really worth the effort and upgrade? We find out in our review and are going to see if the Aqua i7 delivers the usual promise of “more for less”.

Intex Aqua i7 Camera Samples

The Aqua i7 is Intex’s latest flagship phone and it packs as many features as you’d demand from a packed-to-the-brim mid range phone. The specs race in the Indian market is well known, and for about two years, countless manufacturers have released MediaTek based phones to compete in the lucrative and affordable mid range segment. The recent breed of phones now sport a quad core processor with a full HD screen and a 13 megapixel camera. The presence of a 13 megapixel camera in the mid range was unknown until this year, when virtually every Indian manufacturer’s flagship phones has it, and the Intex Aqua i7 is no exception. It has a 13 megapixel camera and a single LED flash, hoping to let you take some decent photos with this phone. Well, does it? Lets find out from the camera samples below.

Intex Aqua i7 Benchmarks

Intex launched the Aqua i7, the company’s latest smartphone in India back in September. We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. This would compete with other devices with full HD screen in the Indian smartphone race. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD display with Gorilla glass protection and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Intex Aqua i7 Unboxing

The Intex Aqua i7 is here and we are unboxing it for you. Launched way back in September, with a price tag of Rs. 21,900, the phone has been prominently featured in a lot of advertisements. The device had not hit the retail market at that time but the company has finally caught up and released it, and yes, we have received our unit too. The unit sits inside quite a large retail box, which we were astonished to find it to be bigger than a standard smartphone retail box of even big phablet devices. How big? Intex has launched the Aqua i7, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the Aqua series. It has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Matrabhasha a multi-lingual application introduced with the entry-level phones recently. It lets users operate the phone in preferred regional language supporting upto 22 regional languages.
