HTC posts $252.7 million loss for Q2, 2015, to slash 2,250 jobs as part of restructuring

HTC has posted $252.7 million loss for Q2, 2015 as against a net profit of $ 2.26 billion in the same period, last year. To combat poor sales and as a part of restructuring, the Taiwanese handsetmaker is also reducing its workforce by 15% globally that translates to 2,250 jobs.

Sony to reportedly slash 1000 jobs in smartphone division

Sony Corp is said to be planning to cut  1000 jobs in its struggling smartphone division, according to a latest report from Reuters. The move comes from the company as it is tries to garner profits.

RIM announces $518 million net loss, 5000 job cuts as part of Q1 earnings

As part of the earnings call report, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins has just announced a net loss of $518 million. For the first quarter of the 2013 fiscal year , the company has brought in 33% lesser revenue from the previous quarter accounting for $2.8 billion.

Nokia ‘sharpens’ strategy, Announces job cuts amidst factory closures

As part of their ongoing strategic changes, Nokia just announced a major shake up in senior management along with major restructuring in terms of facilities and overheads. The biggest of these changes is going to be the 10,000 strong global job cut. Of these 3,700 employees will be from Finland which we’re hearing is about 25% of the work force based out of Finland.
