Windows Phone 8.1 might be unveiled to the public only in April at the Build developer event, but some enterprising developers have already been able to get a preview of the SDK, as reported earlier by TheVerge. We had expected more information to pop up once it became available, and thanks to a redditor, who claims to be a high-profile WP app developer(there is proof), some details of the next big update to Microsoft’s mobile platform have leaked. While most of the details are developer-oriented, some of the long standing consumer complaints seem to have been resolved, like the support for installation of apps on the SD card, VPN support and the start of universal apps for Windows Store and Windows Phone Store.

Samsung Huron Windows Phone 8.1 specifications leaked?
Samsung will still be making Windows Phones, if the previously leaked press image of its first Windows Phone 8.1 device is to be believed. Codenamed “Huron”, the Samsung made Windows Phone will be a sequel to the ATIV S that coincided with the launch of WP8, the big reboot to Microsoft’s fast growing platform. But Samsung hasn’t announced any device since, so at this moment, this leak comes more as a surprise than the usual expected ones. Curiously though, the render, leaked by evleaks, shows off a device that looks exactly like the ATIV or a Galaxy, but misses the camera button on the side, which used to be mandatory for Windows Phone. And of course, the screen is “off” so we are not able to get a glimpse of Windows Phone 8.1 either, which evleaks claims the phone is running on. But there are more details.

Red Google Nexus 5 leaks again in a press image
Not long ago, we saw that the UK retail box of the red Google Nexus 5 leaked out. It was an interesting colour choice for the popular smartphone, which released with only two colours – Black or White, back in October. We had compared the two colours and found that the material used for them are vastly different with each providing a different level of build quality and handling. Now, we have a new red coloured version which looks like the real deal, as the press image leaked by evleaks showcases it in bleeding red. Riding the colour wave started by Nokia with its Lumia series of devices, the Nexus 5 in red might be really tempting for people who are still holding back on the purchase because of the lack of colour choices.

Google Fitness API shows up in code leak
As sensor technology becomes ever more sophisticated, wearables and health related use cases are becoming ever more prevalent for smartphones. However this isn’t sufficient for avid fitness buffs and it seems that Google might be working on a more robust offering. Continue reading “Google Fitness API shows up in code leak”
Purported new Samsung TouchWiz UI leaks, Magazine UX and flat icons revealed
Samsung not only unveiled its new tablets yesterday, but also showcased a new Magazine UX for those devices, with panes and tiles reminding us of Flipboard and the Metro UI of Windows 8. Today, we are getting to see leaked images of, what is supposedly, the new Samsung TouchWiz UI for phones. Featuring stylish flat iconography and similar Magazine UX elements, the new TouchWiz, if real, seems like a step in the right direction. At least it is now heading to a place where the whole industry already is – Flat user interfaces. The typography also seems to have gotten a facelift too, but with just three screenshots, it is hard to tell which is which and how all of it will work like.

Nokia Asha 503 leaked, shows off dual shot casing in a press image
The Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi is just weeks away but it looks like all the phones that are scheduled to be launched have already been leaked out. Nokia are supposedly launching new Ashas at the event, as we have seen already with the leak of the Asha 500, and the same leakster evleaks has now posted a press image of the Asha 503. Modeled to look much like the Asha 501, the 503 looks to have a dual shot casing with the outer case being transparent. We saw something similar with the Asha 500 too.

Nokia Smartwatch Leaked?
Two pictures of a purported Nokia Smartwatch have leaked onto the internet. Could this be announced at the Nokia World event on the 22nd of October, or is it just some long forgotten prototype? We all know that the wearable gadget revolution is here. Google brought its Glass into the limelight with a firm vision(pun intended) on the future, Pebble made its Smartwatch, followed by Samsung with its Galaxy Gear and Sony with its second version of its pioneering Smartwatch. With the leak, it looks like even Nokia, which is all ready to get acquired by Microsoft, has or had its own plans for a wearable gadget.
This is the Nokia Lumia 1520, leaked in a press image
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has finally leaked in full glory. We saw the 1080p GDR3 screenshot, we saw the aluminium case and the bezels, and then we saw the phone’s rather huge front in another leaked image, but this time, thanks to the leakmeister EVleaks, we have a full press image. From the looks of it, it is definitely made in polycarbonate, with the design closely resembling the Lumia 925, and the device is… just massive. If you don’t think it’s huge, just take a look at the Windows shortcut capacitive keys. It is also nice to see that the phone has really thin bezels.

Did Google just accidentally leak the LG Nexus 5?
Having announced the Google KitKat partnership for the next version of Android, the company released a video showing a celebratory installation of the new mascot in GooglePlex. This video might have looked normal at first, but keen eyes spotted a weird new device with the Nexus branding on the back. Could this be the unannounced Google Nexus 5? Also, if the logo is inspected at close, it looks to be made by LG. Unless our eyes fool us, this might actually be the upcoming Nexus 5 phone from Google, made by LG.

Nokia Lumia 1520 “Bandit” Screenshot reveals a cluttered GDR3 start screen
EVLeaks, the guy known for most leaks these days has revealed yet another interesting bit of information today, pertaining to the future of Windows Phone. On the day of the huge Microsoft-Nokia announcement, this leak comes as something to look forward to, but then after taking a single glance at it will be quite the opposite of a reaction. Yes, what you see above in the leaked image is an indirect confirmation of the existence of Nokia Lumia 1520 codenamed “bandit” and a quick look at the cluttered look of the Windows Phone GDR3’s 1080p supported start screen.

Nokia Lumia 1520 with 6 inch 1080p display appears in leaked image
Nokia’s intentions to introduce a large screen device are fairly obvious by now. It has been long rumored that the Finnish smartphone company is working on a phablet class device that would bring a large 6 inch screen to Nokia’s Lumia hardware. The image leaked earlier today corroborates all that we know about the device. Placed next to the Lumia 1020, the handset appears positively gargantuan.
With the screen switched on, we also seem to be getting our first look at the upcoming GDR3 update that would bring support for 1080p screens, faster processors. To make use of all that screen real estate, Windows Phone will now allow you to place a double wide tile next to a medium sized tile. Additionally, a third row of tiles can be placed on the homescreen. The leaked image closely resembles an image that had earlier this year that claimed to depict the front panel for the upcoming device. Additionally, the engraved proto.nokia.com text is true for all Nokia prototype devices. Continue reading “Nokia Lumia 1520 with 6 inch 1080p display appears in leaked image”
Oppo N1 to launch in September, rumoured specs leak out
Just hours after we posted our first impressions of the newly launched Oppo R819, another leak has graced us with some exciting information. We’d already seen Oppo acknowledge the existence of their new range of flagship camera-centric devices dubbed the N-lens and that the first device will be named N1(of which we saw some leaked renders). And now we’ve got a leaked image from a Weibo user which says that the device will be launching late September this year. Rumoured to have a 13 megapixel sensor with a professional-grade Fujitsu camera ISP, the N1 will be Oppo’s first real cameraphone flagship.

Apple iPhone 5C packaging spotted , is this the cheap iPhone ? May be in multiple colours !
In a fresh leak regarding the rumored cheaper iPhone , a chinese site WeiPhone has got hold of what looks like a tub full of iPhone 5C boxes. Would the cheaper iPhone be known as the iPhone 5 C? One high possibility is Apple brings Colour to the iPhone doing away with just black and while like it did with the iPod recently. This can be fake but would take weeks or even month to fake it so this could very well be the real deal considering we are closing in on the September/October time frame for the new iPhone unveiling. The packaging seems similar to the one used in newest iPod touches and considering this a cheaper iPhone , it would be fair to bet that Apple wants to spend as little as possible on the box.

Leaked Moto X video reveals an always listening Google Now with a sleeping screen
Seemingly controlled, yet another new Moto X leak has been let loose on the Internet. This time, it’s not the Google Chariman, but the Canadian carrier Rogers. In a “Tech Talk Experts” video, Rogers shows off the black Moto X, which very much looks like the Nexus 4, but shows off rather intriguing functionality. The Moto X is always listening to your voice for commands, just like the Google glass and will let you talk to it, without touching the phone. Much like the Microsoft Kinect on the Xbox One, Google Now always keeps its ears open for a specific command, in this case – “Ok Google Now”. A few more interesting features have been revealed, but watch the video first –
