Lenovo Vibe Z Review

Lenovo Vibe Z, the Chinese company’s flagship smartphone, was launched in India for a price of 35,999 a while back. The phone, also know by its codename K910, is the successor to Lenovo’s K900, the flagship from last year. We had reviewed the K900 and found it to be a really good flagship at that point in time, and it’s not surprising that the Vibe Z is modeled off the same. With improvements on the outside in terms of design and build and on the inside in terms of internals, is the Vibe Z Lenovo’s best offering yet? Lenovo Vibe Z camera tips and tricks

We had earlier taken a look at the photo gallery and hardware walkthrough of the Vibe Z and even saw how the camera on the latest Lenovo flagship worked, in our camera review. But, as with any camera, there is always a bit of a learning curve, and over the course of traversing that path, some options become more apparent and useful. Lenovo Vibe Z Multi Window demo

Ever since phablets launched, there has been a push for scaling and an increase in the information density on those screens, irrespective of resolution. There has been a push to adopt the, initially clunky, Multi Window system that allowed an user to have two different apps, or more recently, two different instances of the same app. all on the same screen. It made sense for some tasks such as using the calculator and having your expense notes on the same screen, or a voice recorder and a notes page for quick typing of notes on the same screen. It all makes sense if you specifically perform those tasks, and they work great. Other manufacturers have been giving it a go and Lenovo too has followed suit with its own implementation on its flagship smartphone, the Vibe Z. Here is a video demo of it –

Lenovo launched the Vibe Z, the company’s latest flagship in India last month for Rs. 35,999. The smartphone is now available for pre-order from the official store for Rs. 34,999. It also offers a free Z smart touch cover worth Rs. 2,039 with the smartphone. It a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display at 400 PPI, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Vibe ROM on top. Lenovo Vibe Z Unboxing

The Lenovo K900 was the Chinese company’s first flagship launch in India. It had really good specifications for a high end phone and launched at a competitive price, only to then get lesser and suddenly turn into a really good value for money device. We had been waiting for its successor for quite a while now, and now it has come in the form of the Lenovo Vibe Z, which aims to fill the gap the K900 has left in the Indian market. The Vibe Z was announced in India just a couple of days back, at an event which we attended. It has been priced at Rs. 35,999, which is very close to what the K900 was launched for. We had taken a good look at the Vibe Z aka K910 at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas, but the phone was announced in China way back in October. It was showcased at the CES 2014 last month and packs a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display at 400 PPI, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Vibe ROM on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor, dual LED flash f/1.8 aperture, BSI sensor and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 84 degree wide viewing angle and f/ 2.2 aperture.
