LG Display today announced the world’s first 5.7-inch QHD+ LCD panel with a 18:9 aspect ratio. However, the company has not released an image of the panel, like they usually do. LG says that it has developed this display with 18:9 aspect ratio to provide more immersive viewing experiences and due to consumer demands for bigger screens. “18:9 aspect ratio is also optimized for multi-tasking, using dual-screen functions,” says LG. LG Display said to invest $803 million for OLED panels in smartphones and wearables
LG Display Co Ltd is looking forward to invest up to 900 billion won ($802.75 million) for OLED panels for smartphones and wearables. The South Korean company is said to venture into new production line for small- and medium-sized organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays, as per a report from DongA Ilbo publication.
LG Display announces 5.5-inch Quad HD display, to be used in LG G4
LG Display has introduced a 5.5-inch QHD (Quad High Definition) IPS display panel for mobile devices. LG display has confirmed that the new Quad HD LCD panel will be unveiled with the forthcoming LG’s flagship smartphone to be launched at the end of the month. It is clear that the LG G4 scheduled to be unveiled on April 28th will use this display. Even the LG G3 used a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, but this will offer richer and more accurate colors with a 120 percent color gamut, compared to the 100 percent gamut that was present in the LG G3’s display , says LG Display. Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT expected to launch in India soon for Rs. 7399
Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Ace NXT (SM-G313H), an entry-level smartphone in the Galaxy series in India soon. Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the phone would be priced at Rs. 7,399 (MOP) and the MRP would be Rs. 8,550. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Young 2 (SM-G130H) and Galaxy Star 2 (SM-G130E), entry level smartphones with 3.5-inch HVGA displays, single-core processor and Android 4.4 (KitKat). LG announces 5.5-inch 2560×1440 pixels Quad HD smartphone display
LG Display, the display arm of LG Electronics has announced the world’s first Quad HD AH-IPS LCD panel for smartphones. The LCD panel is of size 5.5-inches diagonally with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 538ppi. It has the highest resolution and ppi (pixel per inch) mobile panel to date. Last month LG Display introduced the world’s slimmest 5.2-inch Full HD LCD panel for smartphones which is used in the LG G2. LG unveils 5-inch smartphone display with 1080p HD resolution
LG has unveiled 5-inch Full HD LCD display panel for smartphones. This is based on AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) technology that features 440ppi pixel density and 1920×1080 pixel resolution.
