Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today.

LG was responsible for the Nexus 4 and more recently the Nexus 5, and their association with Google continues with the LG G Pad 8.3. The G Pad was originally launched as a premium 8 inch tablet from LG, fully packed with special features added through software but the one we have here is the first tablet to be blessed by Google with a Play Edition, meaning the device will run stock Android without any modifications. Google and OEMs have been pushing out Play Edition devices since last year, for people who want Android, pure. With no bloatware and the latest version of Android, the GPE of the GPad is, in many ways, the Nexus 8 that was never announced. Priced at $349, should one prefer this over the Nexus 7 2013? Or is it the mini tablet to get? Lets find out in our review.
LG is the company that is currently producing Google’s Nexus smartphones, but Google’s Nexus tablets are produced by Asus. LG announced their first tablet in nearly two years at IFA 2013 in Berlin – LG G Pad 8.3. The G Pad 8.3 has its design language from the company’s current flagship, G2 and has a very big 8.3inch display. We managed to get our hands on the LG G Pad 8.3 and do check out that video right below.

LG has announced that the G Pad 8.3 would be released in over 30 countries by the end of this year. The G Pad 8.3 was announced last month, ahead of IFA 2013. It packs a 8.3 inch (1920×1200 pixels) display at 273ppi, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). LG released a teaser video for its upcoming LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. Though the video had little to do with the tablet, it was about various people talking what they use their tablet for and what would make them use it more. The theme of the teaser goes by “What would make a tablet just right for you?”. The new LG G Pad is expected to be announced at the IFA in early September.
