LG Pay mobile payment service launched in South Korea

LG has finally launched LG Pay, its own payment service in South Korea, after showing it off at  World IT Show 2017 exhibition in COEX last month. It uses Wireless Magnetic Communication (WMC) technology, a magnetic technology that can be used as an ordinary credit card when making offline payments. A magnetic signal is generated from a mobile device and is paid to a credit card terminal. LG Pay demoed ahead of commercial launch in June

LG has demoed its LG Pay payment service at the World IT Show 2017 exhibition in COEX, Seoul ahead of commercial launch in June. LG White Card surfaces online – Required for LG Pay service

Just like Samsung has Samsung Pay, LG is also hard at work to bring their own payment service which will be called LG Pay. While the name certainly doesn’t stand out, the way in which it works might. Apparently, users will need a separate device called as White Card in order to use the service.

LG Pay mobile payment service announced

LG Pay announcement

LG today announced LG Pay, its own mobile payment service, after Apple PaySamsung Pay and Android Pay. The Korean giant has partnered with Shinhan Card and KB Kookmin Card to prepare for the launch of LG Pay in South Korea soon. LG did not announce when it will roll out the mobile payment service in Korea or other markets.
