It is a point of debate as to which handset is the superior one, LG’s G5 or Samsung’s S7 and S7 Edge. However, what is almost certain is the fact that the LG G5 has more innovative features and USPs thanks to its modular design. In this post, we shall take a look at what LG has to offer with the G5 that makes it stand out from almost every other smartphone in the market.
LG had quite a disappointing year in 2015 due to lackluster sales of the LG G4. The G4 was a brilliant smartphone in many ways but still failed to gain momentum owing to a few factors. The primary factor being the build quality and materials used. Samsung had to find out the hard way about how essential the build quality and premium feel is for handsets, especially flagships. LG too have learnt that by now and their new flagship, the G5 is an indication of the new direction they are heading in. But there was a handset that was released last year that received lesser attention than it should, the LG V10. On paper at least, the smartphone seemed to offer one of the most complete packages in the flagship category. In this review, we will be taking a look at the smartphone in detail and seeing whether or not all the impressive features and specifications actually impress us in real life too.
Earlier, it was expected that if you pack the latest processor from Qualcomm, it would in effect be able to have the fast charging properties of the particular processor. However, the OnePlus 2 showed that it is possible to remove the fast charging abilities if needed. Similarly, now it seems that Samsung have bundled only QuickCharge 2.0 with their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge while LG’s G5 is capable of doing QuickCharge 3.0.

This year at MWC, we saw LG and Samsung go head to head with their new flagships, the G5 and Galaxy S7/S7 Edge respectively. One of the many things that the handsets have in common is that they will be having a Snapdragon 820 variant. However, it seems that while Samsung will be offering a similarly high end Exynos 8890 chipset in other regions, LG will opt for a lower end processor to power its flagship instead.
