Nokia just introduced its latest Windows Phone 8 handset at the Le Web Conference in Paris. Marking the lower end of the Windows Phone 8 range the phone will be offered in seven colors and supports exchangeable shells in gloss and matte finishes depending on the color you chose.

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 launching in India in November

Nokia just announced today that it has begun shipping its first Windows Phone 8 devices in select markets to operators and retail outlets and it will go on sale in UK and France later this week.Russia and Germany would be getting the Lumia 920 and 820 after that.  Several other countries including India will see the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 being launched sometime in November ( no exact date or price yet). The Lumia 920 packs an awesome camera with optical image stabilization and a pure motion hd+ display apart and runs on Windows Phone 8. Nokia Lumia 800 Price Drops to Rs.18867

Nokia’s first Windows Phone device, the Nokia Lumia 800 just got a major price drop. The phone is now available for Rs. 18,867 and includes a free Monster in-ear headset worth Rs.5,110. The Lumia 800 runs on Windows Phone 7.5 and is expected to get an update to Windows Phone 7.8 soon.

Nokia DC-16 Portable Battery Review

As smartphones increase in capabilities and screen sizes, the battery technology is struggling to keep up. Non replaceable batteries in phones have made it even harder to be able to just switch out when the phone dies.

This has led to a range of portable battery accessories by manufacturers like Proporta, Nokia amongst others. Nokia added a new member to its battery line up some time back in the form of the DC-16 charging stick and we decided to give it a spin. Here’s our review.

Nokia Lumia 810 headed to T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile and Nokia just announced the Lumia 810 which will be an exclusive on the network. Featuring a 4.3″ OLED WVGA Clear Black display, 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and exchangeable back covers, the phone is identical to the Lumia 820 in terms of hardware but supports 4G on T-Mobile and has the carrier branding on the top-left.

Nokia Lumia 920 coming to China Mobile with TD-SCDMA support

China Mobile, the world’s largest telecom carrier with over 660 million subscribers, has agreed to launch the Nokia Lumia 920 on its network. Nokia revealed that its flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be available on the Chinese operator. The phone will support the TD-SCDMA infrastructure used in China.

Windows Phone 8 signed off for RTM

Microsoft’s long awaited next generation mobile OS, Windows Phone 8 has finally been signed off for RTM. RTM here stands for Release to Manufacturing. This means that the OS is now code-complete and just needs to undergo testing on carriers and phones before being launched on devices.

Bluetooth File Transfer, Cinemagraph and more coming to Nokia Lumia handsets

As part of their commitment to the Windows Phone platform, Nokia has been introducing a range of apps exclusive to their own Lumia line of phones. Ranging from enhancements to apps which make up features missing in the platform, Nokia aims to provide long term support to owners of Lumia devices. Last week Nokia launched its City Lens app which is an augmented reality app to provide real time information about your surroundings.

Nokia Lumia 800 gets a Price Cut at UK Retailer

A Reuters report indicated earlier today that Nokia was cutting the prices of older Lumia phones and also indicated that company would cut the price of it’s 1st Windows Phone by around 15%. Now a UK retailer is selling the Black Lumia 800 for as low as 195 pounds ( 234 GBP including VAT) or Rs.17500 approximately which is the lowest price for the handset since it’s launch last year. The handset is retailing for around Rs.23000 currently in India and it is not clear if the price cut will be applicable here.

Nokia Lumia 920 with PureView Press Image Leaked

This might be the Nokia Lumia 920 , the first Nokia Windows Phone to run on Windows Phone 8 and feature PureView Camera technology. When Nokia launched the PureView 808 running on Symbian earlier this year, it was not clear why Nokia would launch a Symbian phone with latest camera technology in 2012 when it’s primary focus was on Windows Phone . Looks like we should be seeing a Nokia Windows Phone with PureView Camera technology soon.The leak talks about a 4.5 inch Lumia 920 and we can see Carl Zeiss branding on the back . The lens and flash arrangement seems similar to the Nokia N9 and Lumia 900 and slightly different from the Lumia 800.The phone will mostly run on Microsoft Windows Phone 8.
