Ari Jaaksi, Vice President Nokia, Meego (formerly Maemo) Devices has resigned. Finland’s Talous Sanomat confirms that Ari Jaaksi quit the company last week. The hardtime in Nokia board continues after the CEO Olli Pekka and the Head of Nokia Mobile Solutions Anssi Vanjoki, now Ari Jassksi who is responsible for Meego has left the company. Leaked Nokia MeeGo OS Demo
We just spotted a video demo of what looks like MeeGo OS running inside a Nokia Phone Emulator. The screens don’t look like the UI where MeeGo screenshots pointed us about a month ago. But we heard that Nokia is going to have it’s own UI on top of the native MeeGo UI and this might be atleast a portion of that. But the UI looks pretty impressive ! Nokia N9 MeeGo UI might look different
The Nokia N9 which is rumored to be the first MeeGo phone from Nokia was shown off in a video which seems to have been pulled out of Youtube last month. The MeeGo project today released some screenshots of MeeGo for handsets and the UI looks a bit different than Maemo and much more different than Symbian. The UI draws inspiration from Android and WebOS. Now Eldar of Mobile-Review tweeted that the Nokia N9 will have a different UI and not the default MeeGo UI. The folks at MeeGo have just announced the Day 1 of the Handset Experience project for Meego
MeeGo v1.0 for Netbooks is out , coming to handhelds soon
Finally Meego has released the version 1.0 of the software platform for Netbooks . And they have hinted at June release for Handhelds. MeeGo 1.1 handset UI development will start in June . The MeeGo Netbook User experience release will be followed by a early developer release for handhelds and tablets. The MeeGo image is available for download from the MeeGo site and it would run on Intel Atom based Netbooks.MeeGo v1.1 will be released in October and it will include support for touch-based devices such as Handsets, Tablets, and In-Vehicle Infotainment systems. So it should be end of the year by the time we see MeeGo powered phones
And this is a developer release , so if you are faint hearted , do stay away !

The Nokia and Intel joined hands for a open source platform called Meego. Meego is a combination Of Intel’s Mobiln and Nokia’s Maemo. The Meego official site has revealed that the first meego release for Nokia ARM based Nokia N900 and for Intel Atom based netbooks is coming soon. Nokia and Intel Merge Software Platforms to launch “Meego”
