Meizu just announced PRO 6, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at an event in China. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 3D press that perceives different levels of pressure on the screen, 0.715mm narrow frame, 70.8mm width and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. It is powered by a Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X25 SoC, has 4GB of RAM, 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone 10-LED Ring flash, Laser auto focus and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) for quick focus in just 0.07 seconds. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and runs Flyme OS 5.5 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Meizu has scheduled an event on April 6th in China, the same day as the Huawei P9 event. The company is expected to introduce the m3 note, successor of last year’s m2 note. The teaser says it will be Pretty fast, thin, long-lasting, which hints at fast processor, sleek body and a huge battery. MediaTek today officially introduced its Deca-Core Helio X20 processor at an event in China. At the event Meizu CEO, Yongxiang BAI and MediaTek Vice President & Co-COO, Jeffrey Ju confirmed that the upcoming flagship Meizu PRO 6 smartphone will be exclusively powered by a Deca-Core Helio X25 processor. Samsung is rumored to be working on Exynos 8870, a cheaper variant of its Exynos 8 Octa 8890 14nm processor with custom CPU cores and Mali–T880 MP12 GPU. According a weibo user this processor will use the same custom designed CPU cores based on 64-bit ARMv8 architecture, but the maximum clock speed will be slightly reduced compared to the 8890.
