Close to 14 months after the launch of the Mi 5, Xiaomi finally introduced it’s successor earlier this month. Predictably called the Mi 6, the phone continues the tradition of bringing top of the line specifications at half the price of current flagships. In India though, the Redmi series remains the bread and butter for the company. The future of Xiaomi’s flagship line in India remains a bit dubious due to less than stellar sales but given an opportunity, we just couldn’t resist going hands on with the latest and greatest from the company. Xiaomi Mi 6 with 5.15-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM, 12MP dual rear cameras announced
Xiaomi just announced its flagship Mi 6 smartphone at an event in China, as it had promised. It packs a 5.15-inch 1080p display similar to the Mi 5S. It also has reading mode that cancels blue light and 1-nit ultra dark night display for reading at night. This is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 processor, has 6GB of RAM and also comes with 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, one with wide-angle lens and other one with telephoto lens. It also has portrait mode, similar to the iPhone 7 Plus for blurring background objects and 2x optical zoom. There is also four-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) to help take steady shots and videos. Xiaomi Mi 6 render shows dual rear camera setup, pricing surfaces ahead of April announcement
Xiaomi is expected to introduce its flagship Mi 6 smartphone in April. Now a new render of the phone has surfaced showing glass back and dual rear cameras. Xiaomi recently teased Snapdragon 835 so there are chances it could come with the processor. Some rumors say that only the Mi 6 Plus will pack dual rear cameras.
