Gameloft made the Modern Combat 5: Blackout for iOS platform free last week, now the game for Android is available for free. The new spring update adds controller support, more weapons, a new class and more. Those who had purchased the game earlier will get Veteran status, with unlimited energy and 200 credits. The switch to free-to-play means the game will have a longer lifetime, so we can invest more in the long-term update plan and in the servers which need to support a significantly larger player base, said Valeriu Ispir, Product Manager, Gameloft. Gameloft has released the Modern Combat 5: Blackout, the latest game in the Modern Combat franchise, as it promised. The game has single player  and multiplayer options with new features,  unified game progression, four soldier classes, improved graphics compared to the Modern Combat 4 and more new features. Earlier this month Gameloft announced that the Modern Combat 5: Blackout would launch on Android, iPhone and iPad on July 24th. Recently Gameloft has announced that the game would also launch on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 this Thursday. Gameloft launched 16 games for Windows Phone 8 last year and would bring all upcoming HD titles to Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms immediately after they launch. After teasing the next iteration of the Modern Combat for over an year, Gameloft has finally announced that it would launch the Modern Combat 5: Blackout on July 24th. Recently Gamelof announced that the game would have a unified game progression for both single and multiplayer games and four soldier classes. It also revealed the teaser trailer of the game ahead of E3 2014. This would bring innovative new features and mechanics. Gameloft released the first trailer of the Modern Combat 5, the next First Person Shooter (FPS) game in the Modern Combat franchise back in June last year. Recently the company announced that it would be called Modern Combat 5: Blackout and revealed the plotline of the game. It has revealed more details about the game including the single and multiplayer progression and soldier classes. Modern Combat 5 optimized for MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core chip coming in early 2014

Gameloft has partnered with MediaTek to announce that the upcoming Modern Combat sequel would be optimized for MediaTek’s MT6592 Octa-Core chip. This would be first game optimized for the new chip, which would include, enhanced graphics including, water distortion effects, reflections and shadowing. Since it is a fast moving action game, the MT6592 chip would offer continuous scrolling in high definition with attention to detail from soft particle display to enhanced depth of field to create a more immersive experience, says the company. Modern Combat 5 Trailer released, coming soon to Android, iPhone and iPad

Gameloft has released the first trailer of the Modern Combat 5, the next First Person Shooter (FPS) game in the Modern Combat franchise for E3 2013. This would definitely have better graphics and animations than the previous versions and the places from the trailer also seem interesting. The Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour released for iPhone, iPad and Android last year. Check out the trailer and couple of screen grabs from the trailer below.
