Motorola India has officially announced that the Indian Motorola Xoom owners will get Android 3.1 Over the Air (OTA) update on 29th July 2011. This Android 3.1 update activates the SD card slot to expand the external memory up to 64GB using MicroSD. Other features include improved multi-tasking, re-sizable widgets and lots more. Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi officially announced by Sprint, coming out next week

We told you last month that Sprint will be launching the first ever Honeycomb tablet known as Motorola XOOM, and at the moment it’s available at Verizon Wireless and several retailers in USA. Today, Sprint officially announced the Motorola XOOM which is coming out on May 8th for $599. Only bad news is that the tablet is neither 3G nor 4G, it’s Wi-Fi only tablet. Motorola has announced the launch of Honeycomb tablet, Motorola Xoom in Malaysia, which will be available on May 6th with Maxis Communications. This was launched in it Singapore recently. Rumor: Motorola to reduce Xoom shipments gradually – Xoom 2 expected?

Motorola is expected to ship 700,000-800,000 units of their first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet Xoom in the first quarter of 2011. With total shipment of 200,000 units in the month of February, which should reach 400,000-500,000 at the end of month of march, their forecast looks good according to upstream suppliers.
