NTT Docomo launches 15-day free Japan Welcome SIM for foreign tourists
NTT Docomo has introduced new Japan Welcome SIM for those tourists that will be available from July 1st, 2017. The free SIM can be applied via a dedicated website prior leaving from your country and you can retrieve the SIM card from Narita, Haneda or Kansai International airport upon arrival in Japan. As a limited period offer till September 30, 2017, you get high-speed traffic of 100MB, after that you can use it in Plan Zero with a speed of 128kbps with video ads and surveys. NTT Docomo to launch 225 Mbps LTE-Advanced service in March
NTT Docomo has announced that it will launch its LTE-Advanced service in Japan next month that would offer download speed of up to 225Mbps and upload speed of up to 50Mbps. It uses carrier aggregation technology that would allow the operator achieve its ultra-high speed download speed, which will be further accelerated to a maximum 300Mbps towards the end of the next fiscal year ending in March 2016. NTT Docomo expands inbound LTE roaming to 37 countries, regions
NTT Docomo has expanded its inbound LTE roaming service in Japan for customers from the Azores, Australia, Christmas Island, Greece, Madeira, New Zealand and Portugal. This will enable customers from 37 countries and regions have access to Docomo’s extra-high-speed LTE network (up to 150Mbps), Xi (read crossy) when traveling in Japan beginning December 5. NTT Docomo unveils 12 new devices, to launch VoLTE service in June
NTT Docomo has announced 12 new devices in their summer lineup. The company also announced that it would roll out Japan’s first Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) service beginning late-June. This would require Xi (read “crossy”) network that would offer high-quality voice and video calls also enable user receive Area Mail disaster-information notifications while making VoLTE voice/video calls. Japan’s largest telecom operator NTT Docomo has unveiled 16 new devices including 9 Smartphones and a Tablet. Some popular phones include, Samsung Galaxy Note II SC-02E and Galaxy S3 α SC-03E in the ‘docomo NEXT Series’. They have also announced Sony Xperia AX SO-01E and LG Optimus LIFE L-02E in the ‘docomo with series’. LG announced that the LG Optimus G L-01E would got on sale on from NTT Docomo on October 19th. NTT Docomo to launch new Mobile Translation Apps
NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest telecom operator has announced that they would launch 2 new apps, Hanashite Hon’yaku and Utsushite Hon’yaku for their customers. The Hanashite Hon’yaku is the world’s first commercial mobile service for translation that would translate the conversations between people speaking Japanese to other languages. Japan’s Fujitsu Limited, NTT DOCOMO INC., NEC Corporation and Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited have announced a joint venture to develop and sell semiconductor products with built-in modem. NTT Docomo has announced the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for 18 devices in their docomo with series, docomo NEXT series and docomo tablets. Some of these devices were announce in May and October 2012. The Xperia Acro and NX SO-02D were announced this January. Panasonic Eluga coming to NTT Docomo in Japan on March 29
Panasonic announced Eluga, 4-3-inch waterproof Android smartphone for Europe at MWC 2012 last month. NTT docomo has announced that it will be available on March 29th as P-04D in their NEXT series. NTT Docomo has announced 2 new Android devices that supports new V-High multimedia broadcasting service in Japan. This would let the users watch NOTTV, a mobile multimedia broadcasting station that will begin operating on April 1. The AQUOS PHONE SH-06D smartphone is waterproof and features a 4.5-inch high-definition glass-less 3D display with a 1.2 GHz dual core CPU. The MEDIAS TAB N-06D tablet is also waterproof and boasts a large 7-inch WXGA high-definition display and is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core CPU.
