Sony Xperia NX and Xperia acro HD announced for NTT Docomo
Sony has announced Xperia acro (HD SO-03D) and the Xperia NX (SO-02D) for NTT Docomo in Japan. The Xperia NX (SO-02D) comes under the Docomo NEXT series and is a variant of Xperia S that was announced at CES 2012. The Xperia acro (HD SO-03D) comes under Docomo with series. Both these phones comes with 4.3-inch (1280 × 720 pixels) HD Reality Display, 12MP camera auto focus camera with 1080p HD video recording and 1.3MP secondary front facing camera, 1.5GHz dual core CPU and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) that is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). NTT Docomo to develop mobile phone chips with Samsung, Panasonic and others
Japan’s largest telecom operator NTT Docomo has announced that they have made an agreement with five companies, Fujitsu, Fujitsu Semiconductor, NEC Corporation, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Samsung Electronics to create a joint venture company by the end of March 2012 that would develop and sell semiconductor products for mobile devices. LG Optimus LTE L-01D arrives in Japan, available in Red color and with NFC support on NTT Docomo
LG has launched the Optimus LTE L-01D in Japan. NTT Docomo already announced the LTE device in their NEXT series this October. LG announced the device for Korea this October and it launched earlier this month in US on AT&T as LG Nitro HD. The LG Optimus LTE L-01D comes with a 4.5 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) True HD IPS display with 326 PPI and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm snapdragon processor and features an 8MP Auto focus camera with LED Flash, 1080p HD video recording and 1.3MP front facing camera. NTT Docomo unveils 23 Mobile Devices, including 14 Smartphones and a Tablet
NTT Docomo has announced 22 new phones in Japan that includes 14 smartphones and 8 feature phones. They have also announced GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus SC-02D tablet. They have also launched the dmenu portal that provides apps and DOCOMO’s popular i-mode content for smartphone and dmarket content store that would offer content, including movies, music, e-books and Android applications. NTT DOCOMO has announced that they would launch the docomo Tablet GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D and the docomo Tablet ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D. These are the first tablets compatible with its extra-high-speed next-generation LTE service, Xi (Crossy). Both these tablets come with 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) displays and features dual core CPUs running on Android 3.2. NTT DOCOMO to become Japan’s first mobile operator to bring overseas mobile remittances
NTT DOCOMO has announced that they would be the first mobile operator to bring overseas mobile remittances. This would let the NTT DOCOMO customers in Japan to transfer money in a local currency or USD from the DOCOMO Kouza account to a bank account or affiliated beneficiary financial institutions in Philippines, Brazil, South Korea or China. Japan’s largest telecom operator NTT Docomo just revealed its plans for the summer by announcing 24 new devices. These phones cover almost any kind of usage a person might have or want and gives them unparalleled choice. Android Gingerbread is the operating system of choice on 8 of the devices. The camera phone segment has been pushed up a notch by the 6 devices on offer with cameras ranging from 12 to a whopping 16 megapixels.

NTT DOCOMO to Launch Xi LTE Service in Japan with 75 Mbps download speeds
NTT DOCOMO, has announced it’s plan to launch of Xi (read “Crossy”), Japan’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) service on December 24, 2010 with maximum download speeds of 75 Mbps which is 10 times faster than DOCOMO’s current FOMA 3G service. The service will be initially offered via USB dongles to computers and support for voice calls will come in April 2011 to coincide with the company’s launch of LTE phones. Xi or 4G craziness will land first in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka

Symbian today announced that Symbian^2 (S^2) platform will be running on the 4 new devices from NTT DOCOMO INC which was unveiled on 18 May 2010 viz the docomo PRIME series™ F-06B, docomo STYLE series™ F-07B and docomo STYLE series F-08B, manufactured by Fujitsu Limited and the docomo PRIME series SH-07B, manufactured by Sharp Corporation.

Tata Docomo SIM Card is here
Tata Docomo seems to be getting a lot of attention amongst mobile consumers in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. So we went ahead and bought a Tata Docomo SIM Card to check out the service . Tata Docomo is Tata’s foray into GSM sevices in India and the different pricing strategy has already grabbed our attention. The SIM Card pack rarely gets any attention from customers as most of it is just marketing material and nothing is useful to the end user. Tata Docomo’s SIM pack was a bit different and it even included a flyer which indicated the call charges. More pics of the pack below

Tata Docomo is planning to introduce a 1 second pulse instead of the usual 1 minute pulse offered by other mobile service providers. This means that the consumers will be charged on a per second basis rather than the per minute basis and hence they will end up saving money on the seconds left unused.
