OnePlus has announced a little brother to their flagship OnePlus 2 smartphone called the OnePlus X. This is the third smartphone being released by OnePlus and it comes in two variants. OnePlus just announced that it will hold the first open sale for the OnePlus 2 smartphone in India on October 12th. The OnePlus 2 went on sale in India back in August for Rs. 24,999 and is currently available for purchase only with invites on Amazon. OnePlus has started rolling out Oxygen OS v2.1.0 OTA update for the OnePlus 2 smartphone, as it promised earlier this month. This update includes manual mode for camera, Exchange support, several improvements and fixes. It also brings RAW support in 3rd party camera apps that support it, but there are some reports of RAW format still not being supported in 3rd party camera apps, and OnePlus says will look into it and provide a follow up soon. Last week OnePlus teased something luxurious is coming to OnePlus 2. Today the company has introduced Hard Graft Wild Phone Case for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. Created by Italian designers at Hard Graft, this is made of genuine ash grey washed and traditionally tanned leather, says the company.

OnePlus is quickly turning out to be a household name. It just took OnePlus about 12 months to become a hero from a zero. The company’s marketing strategy with all the social media hype and of course, the invite system made sure that the demand was always soaring through the roof.
With their first device, OnePlus set out on a mission – to offer great performance, while still keeping the price tag very affordable. A device that practically redefined what to expect from a handset priced at par with any mid-range smartphone. The OnePlus introduced to us and to an extent made us believe in their philosophy to ‘never settle’. So when the company announced that it is about to introduce a follow up, the expectations were sky high. Like the original, the company opted to reveal the handset piece meal instead of a big bang launch in one go. This meant that when we went hands on with the device, there was no element of surprise with the focus lying more on experiencing the product than just the admittedly competent hardware specifications. OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 2 smartphone yesterday. On the official website, including the OnePlus India website only the FDD-LTE bands were mentioned initially. Now the company has updated the website to add list of TDD-LTE bands. So the OnePlus 2 supports both TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) for India. OnePlus just announced the OnePlus 2, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at a VR event. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD In-Cell display, is powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor v2.1 with Adreno 430 GPU and runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Laser Auto focus, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has aluminum alloy frame. OnePlus 2 has surfaced in live images on XDA forum (Via) through a beta tester in China. This coincides with the image seen in the TENAA listing. These images show the smartphone from all the angles that includes a metal frame and removable back cover with Sandstone Black finish that has a hidden SIM tray with dual SIM support that was confirmed by the CEO recently.The battery is not removable, similar to the Moto G series of smartphones.

OnePlus 2 has finally been certified on TENNA (Via) in China, which shows the image of the upcoming smartphone. This reveals a home button below the display, which is likely to have fingerprint sensor, as the company confirmed earlier. There is a laser auto focus on the back for the camera along with a dual-tone flash. It also shows the same sandstone finish on the back, but the company will sell style swap covers separately. OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu aka Pete Lau has confirmed on weibo (via) that the OnePlus 2 smartphone will come with dual SIM support with dual standby. However, he did not confirm if the OnePlus 2 will have a microSD card slot, which the OnePlus One lacks. Since we have seen are several smartphones with hybrid SIM support that lets the second SIM slot double up as a microSD card slot when required, there might be a possibility of this too.
