Jolla launched by ex-Nokians to carry on the MeeGo torch
Nokia’s stint with MeeGo might be over but the community is not going to let go of the promising OS. Ex-Nokians who were part of the development team have banded together to form Jolla which is Finnish for ‘rescue sail boat’ which is clearly a tongue in cheek reference to the burning ship memo by Nokia’s Elop.

HP releases Android code for Touchpad
Just when the fire sale of the HP Touchpad was taking place, some customers had reported that they received Touchpads with Android running out of the box, and now HP has released the kernel source of Android for the Touchpad to the CyanogenMod team.

HP just announced its intentions to open source the much loved Web OS. The OS which was popular for its elegant multitasking and data handling had almost been killed due to poor sales of smartphone hardware.
