The slimmer and refined 3D smartphone from LG the Optimus 3D Max will start rolling-out in Europe starting from today. The phone was first showcased at MWC 2012 earlier this year in February. The original Optimus 3D phone was a bit bulky and about 12mm thick. LG have managed to shave more than 2mm off the Optimus 3D as the 3D Max is just 9.6mm thick. It is also lighter at 148 grams. HTC is all set to launch it’s 3D smartphone the EVO 3D in India today at a price close to Rs.35000 undercutting the LG Optimus 3D which was launched last week for Rs.37000. We had a chance to play with the EVO 3D and the hardware felt impressive and has a 2D/3D camera toggle key.This is the 2nd glasses-free 3D phone to be launched in India. An LG spokesman announced that LG has done very well globally as well as in Korea. The LG has managed to sell over 120,000 units of the Optimus 3D since its launch last month on the SK Telecom network.

LG Thrill 4G was officially announced by AT&T back in March which is actually AT&T variant of world’s first ever 3D Android smartphone known as the LG Optimus 3D. We recently heard that AT&T will be launching it this month and July is about to end. Well, it seems that the launch is around the corner because BGR is reporting that AT&T will be launching it for $99 with a 2-yr contract but still no words on release date, but my guess is that either it’s coming in few days or probably in the first week of August. We are lucky to get our hands on the LG Optimus 3D which is the world’s first 3D phone and the world’s first 3D smartphone. The 3D experience does not require you to wear 3D glasses as the phone packs a glassless/glassfree 3D display. You can also capture 3D Video footage and pictures talks to the 3D Stereoscopic camera on the back.The phone was announced this year at Mobile World Congress and the unit we are currently playing with looks a lot more stable and polished.
