Pete Lau’s OnePlus and Cyanogen will partner to create the OnePlus One
Pete Lau, the distinguished engineer from Oppo, had announced earlier that he left the company to pursue something new. It was known that it involved CyanogenMod and its CTO Steve Kondik, but now we know what exactly they are upto. Pete Lau is now the CEO of a new hardware start up called OnePlus, and unsurprisingly, its software partner will be Cyanogen Inc. which will power its phones, starting with the flagship “OnePlus One”. No, we are not making that up.

Oppo’s Pete Lau teams up with Steve Kondik to create the perfect Android flagship
Over the past few months, Oppo has come up as one of the most notable smartphone brands emerging out of China. The company had trumpeted their appreciation for CyanogenMod and made it easy for users to shift to the third party ROM on their phones. However it looks like the company’s VP Pete Lau will be leaving Oppo to launch a new brand in association with Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik.
