Google has partnered with ESET, Lookout, and Zimperium to create the App Defense Alliance that is aimed at improving the protection for users from bad apps in the market. The partnership will boost the current Play Protect service with the goal of reducing the risk of app-based malware, identifying new threats, and protecting our users.

Google today released 4th annual “Android security year in review,” and announced that its Play Protection technology has successfully taken down over 39 million from Play Store in 2017.
