Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched the Redmi 7A, the company’s latest budget smartphone and the successor of last year’s Redmi 6A in India, as it had promised. Redmi 7A with 5.45-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 439, splash-resistant body launching in India on July 4 on Flipkart [Update: 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor]

Update: July 3, 2019 — A day before the launch, the company has confirmed that the Indian version of the Redmi 7A will feature 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25um pixel size and AI features, same as the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 7 and the Mi A2. The Chinese Redmi 7A has a 13-megapixel sensor with 1.12um pixel size.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A with 5.45-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 439, 4000mAh battery, splash-resistant body announced [Update: Price]

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just announced the Redmi 7A, the company’s latest budget smartphone and the successor of last year’s Redmi 6A in China, after it got certified last week.  It has a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display, is powered by Snapdragon 439, runs Android Pie with MIUI 10, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, AI scene detection and a 5-megapixel front camera with support for AI face unlock and beautify. Similar to other Redmi 7 series phones, this also has a splash resistant P2i coating.

Update: Detailed specifications of the Redmi 7A smartphone has been revealed on TENAA confirming 5.4-inch HD+ 18:9 display, 4000mAh battery, 1.4GHz Octa-Core SoC.
