Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has launched Redmi 9, the company’s latest budget Redmi smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 6.53-inch HD+ HD+ 20:9 Dot Drop screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 with 4GB of RAM, runs Android 10 with MIUI 12 out of the box, features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. Redmi 9 with 6.53-inch FHD+ display, Helio G80, quad rear cameras, 5020mAh battery announced [Update: 4GB / 6GB + 128GB versions]

Update: June 24 – Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 9 smartphone for the Chinese markets in 4GB RAM with 64GB version that costs 799 yuan (US$ 113 / Rs. 8,540 approx.), 999 yuan (US$ 141 / Rs. 10,675 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs 1199 yuan (US$ 170 / Rs. 12,815 approx.). It also comes in new Lotus Pink color.

After several rumors, Redmi 9 has been listed online revealing complete specifications. This reveals a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD water-drop, MediaTek Helio G80 8nm SoC, 13-megapixel primary rear camera, 8-megapixel 118° ultra-wide angle lens, 5-megapixel 4cm macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Redmi 9, Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A specifications surface – 6.53-inch display, 5000mAh battery

Redmi 9 shows up on official website, expected to launch soon

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has already introduced Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro smartphones in India, and the Redmi Note 9 made its global debut last week. Redmi 9 with upcoming Helio G70 SoC said to launch in Q1 2020

It has just been two months since the launch of Redmi 8 smartphone, now details about the upcoming Redmi 9 has surfaced. According to the latest rumors Xiaomi will move from Snapdragon SoCs to MediaTek for its budget smartphone. The Redmi 9 phone is said to be powered by the upcoming G70 SoC, which could be gaming equivalent to the P70 positioned below Helio G90 series.
