Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 Review

Micromax_Canvas_Xpress2_1

The original Micromax Canvas Xpress was announced in December 2014 at a price of Rs 6,999. The successor, the Canvas Xpress 2 was announced late last month at a price of Rs 5,999. Don’t be fooled by the pricing as the Xpress 2 seems to pack in a lot more than the original despite being Rs 1,000 cheaper than the former. However, mere specifications and a cheaper price tag alone doesn’t mean a phone is better than its predecessor or that it is a good buy at the time. We need to see how well it fares in real life and for that we need to dive into the review. So let’s go ahead and take a look at the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 and see what are its strong suits and what are the chinks in its armour.

Oh look, Another Zenfone 2! Wait, that’s the Zenfone Selfie? Nah, that’s the Zenfone 2 Laser. Once again, Asus has launched a phone that looks nigh identical to the rest of its line up. Meizu MX5 Review

Meizu MX5_fonearena-14

A flagship is usually a company’s best product. It’s top-of-the-line, packed with a lot of new and innovative features, but is decidedly out of reach in terms of affordability. That was how things were until everything changed in the last year or so. Now we have flagship grade devices that are accessible, without many compromises that usually come with low price points. The Meizu MX5 is one of them. Announced a month back in China, the MX5 has all the features and aesthetics you’d look for in a flagship and is quite affordable, but should you buy it? The short answer is yes and the long answer for why, is called a review, read on.

Meizu m2 note Review

meizu_m2_note (2)

Meizu introduced the first model in the note series, the m1 note at the end of last year and released it into the markets by January this year. So it came as a surprise to most of us seeing that Meizu announced its successor earlier this month in China. That is because Meizu are trying to follow a really fast update schedule. Sony themselves had two flagship models a year until very recently but Meizu are trying to release a new update to a phone every quarter. While it is good news to some, it may anger many of the customers who quite recently purchased the m1 note. Especially in India where the m1 note was launched in the later half of May 2015 and just around 2 weeks later, Meizu announced the m2 note. The m2 note is definitely an improved version of the m1 note. There is a new home button, added features and some other improvements have been made as well. But let us just dive into the review to see how good of a phone the m2 note exactly is.

OPPO N3 Review

OPPO_N3 (10)

The N3 is the successor to the OPPO N1. Like the original the N3 also has a rotating camera module but instead of having to rotate it yourself, OPPO have bundled it with a motor that does the job for you. It builds on the same design as well but opts for a smaller screen size. Overall it is based on the same formula but a bit more refined to enhance user experience. Let us take a look at how well the phone performs and whether it is a worthy successor to the OPPO N1.

Gionee Elife S7 Review

Gionee Elife S7 -12

The Chinese invasion of the Indian smartphone market was helmed early on by the likes of Gionee. Somewhere between the price wars and the somewhat lackluster high end products, the brand never managed to gain the favor of high end smartphone buyers. Sure, the company has done exceedingly well in the mid to low end segment with record breaking turnovers that the enigmatic head of Gionee’s Indian business is proud to trumpet but the higher end has remained elusive. While the company has regularly produced ultra slim devices, with the Elife S7, Gionee hasn’t broken any world records and this very well might be for good reason. All said and done, we went over the handset with a fine toothed comb to ascertain whether the company has learnt from its mistakes and has finally created a high end product that can be wholeheartedly recommended. Did it succeed? Read on to find out. Continue reading “Gionee Elife S7 Review”

Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM Review

microsoft_lumia_540 (1)

Microsoft launched the Lumia 540 Dual SIM last month in India. It is a handset that makes you confused as to what its purpose in Microsoft’s lineup really is. This is because it closely resembles its elder brother, the Lumia 640 which was announced alongside the Lumia 640 XL at MWC in Spain earlier this year.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

Samsung Galaxy S6_fonearena-009

In our review of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, we could see how the dual-curved edge screens made the device so unique. The answer to that, is the Galaxy S6, which we had failed to acquire earlier for various reasons. This is our review.
