HTC Butterfly Review

The HTC Butterfly is the Taiwanese company’s first 5” smartphone. It stands on the border in between smartphone and phablet territory. However HTC markets this as a smartphone rather than a phablet.

When it’s classified as a phablet, it becomes a niche product with a smaller customer base. It is also one of the first smartphones to hit the market packing a full HD screen. Here is our review on the HTC Butterfly, HTC’s first smartphone to feature a 1080p display. Continue reading “HTC Butterfly Review”

Sony Xperia SL Review

When we reviewed the Xperia S earlier this year, we felt that it was a new start for Sony. Continuing its tradition of good design, packing an excellent display we quite liked the Xperia S. However the pace of the mobile industry is such that it has been far out-specced since its launch. Following the lead of HTC with its One X refresh, Sony too has launched a new updated version of the Xperia S dubbed the Xperia SL.

Not much has changed in the Xperia SL externally as it retains its beautiful hardware. The screen is still quite nice while the processor has been bumped up to a Dual Core Snapdragon S3 processor clocked at 1.7Ghz compared to the 1.5Ghz processor on the Xperia S.  Keep reading for our full impressions. If the Galaxy Note is anything to go by, Sales of super-sized phones are not going to slow down any time soon. Not wanting to miss out on the trend, LG recently launched the Optimus Vu. Its take on the phablet form-factor includes a 5″ screen in a fairly uncommon 4:3 aspect ratio.

Sony Xperia Ion Review

Sony has been  on roll with their new range of Xperia devices being particularly impressive to look at. The Xperia Ion is no exception and carries on the gorgeous design albeit without the rather cool transparent bar.
