Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman Review

Back in 2005 , Sony Ericsson launched a line of Walkman branded cellphones. The W550i and W800i were to make up for the shrinking market share of Sony’s Walkman line of music players.

Extremely popular and bundled with great earphones , the Walkman series of phones became well known for their superior audio quality. Fast forward to 2011 and we finally have our first smartphone as part of the Walkman series. Here is the FoneArena Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone review Continue reading “Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman Review”

Nokia X7 Review

Nokia’s connection with mobile gaming goes back to the days of the N-Gage and its follow up the N-Gage QD. This was followed by the software only N-Gage 2.0 which was poised to become the next big service. Sadly that was not to be.

Several years down the line comes the Nokia X7 , the follow up to the X6 which comes with a gaming bent. With a decidedly space age design , does it have what it takes to be the next big Nokia ? Continue reading “Nokia X7 Review”

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Review Part 2 – where it fails!

If you have read the first part of my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc review, you have seen that there is a lot to like about the Arc. Be it the super thin body, the very good camera, the probably best LCD display i have seen in quite some time, or the up-to-date Android, I am sure the Arc will appeal to a lot of people and sell quite well. However, as you know from my reviews, where there is good stuff, there will be bad as well, and after 2 weeks of day-by-day usage, i unfortunately have to come up with some things i wasn’t so happy about! So let’s cut right to it, shall we?

Thoughts from Hell: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Review Part 1 – What’s hot?

It’s been some time since i last had a Sony Ericsson smartphone in my hand. After the desaster named Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, i was almost frightened to go back to SE again. Sony sure had it’s qualities, but they kinda missed it with the X10. big time. Fast forward into 2011, Sony Ericsson seemed to have learned from their mistakes and CES was a first sign of things to come, with the introduction of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Slim, sexy and Gingerbread under the hood. A recipe, i thought, could breath new life into SE’s Smartphone division.

Impressed with SE’s latest try, I was eager to get my hands on the Arc. It attracted me in many ways. Even more so, when i had my hands on one shortly at the Sony Ericsson on Ice event some time ago! The time has come, when the fine folks of Sony Ericsson’s PR agency (thanks Marlene!) thankfully sent a review unit over.

So did it live up to it’s hype? Read on, once again divided into hits and misses (which will follow up later on):

Review – Blackberry Pearl 3G Skin

Introduction

We all require some kind of protection for our gadgets. While some may need more protection at the cost of extra bulkiness, some people just require minimum protection and will not want to add much extra bulkiness.

SkullCandy Chops Headphone Review

I love Music: melodies and lyrics speak to me on an emotional state, not a technical one. I’m not an audiophile in any way and you could spend hours explaining to me what Bass or Treble is but I’ll never care or even be able to notice them when listening to a song. One thing though that I do care about is a decent pair of earphones. I just want them to be super comfortable, durable, and to deliver good music to me. 3 years ago, I tried the Sennheiser CX series and I was immediately hooked: I knew I would never buy anything but in-ear headphones.

However, a few months ago, MobileFun proposed I review the SkullCandy Chops. They looked super cool with a nice behind the ear design, that I decided to give them a go and see if that design can work for me.
