ZAGG Rugged Folio Review – Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad Air

zagg_rugged_folio_6

The ZAGG Rugged Folio is a Keyboard case that consists of two separate parts. The first is the case itself that protects the iPad from scratches as well as drops and bumps which we shall talk about later. The second part is the keyboard dock or attachment. Both the components are primarily made of plastic and then fitted with rubber on top to improve grip and ruggedness. The materials used are quite contrasting to the iPad Air itself which relies on glass and metal for majority of its construction. However, once you get used to the case you don’t really feel it being awkward especially since it still is rock solid despite having a majorly plastic build. The keyboard portion does flex a bit but only when you apply pressure and doesn’t really happen when you are just typing for example.

OnePlus X Review

OnePlus X_fonearena-005

The OnePlus X is probably the first time that OnePlus has really deviated from their design language. Yes, the OnePlus 2 was different from the OnePlus One in a few obvious ways but the basic shape, ergonomics etc remained quite similar. While it did feel like an improvement, people could still probably tell that it was a OnePlus device especially when they touched the sandstone back. The OnePlus X on the other hand feels totally new. The design of the OnePlus X has both glass at the front as well as the back on the Onyx version and a Ceramic back on the Ceramic version.

iFrogz Tadpole Active Review – Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

ifrogz_tadpole_active (1)

One of the main purposes of our smartphones these days is content consumption and a large portion of that is for media be it audio or visual. While many smartphone manufacturers go a long way and try to integrate high end screen with eye-bleeding sharpness and vividness etc, most of them fail to deliver in terms of audio. There are maybe a handful of phones that come with good quality and powerful speaker but in the pursuit of “thin-ness”, most smartphones have feeble loudspeakers that really take away the whole experience of entertainment unless you are using a headset. So what do you do, when you want to share that same content with your friends or family for example? A speaker is the best solution and that too a wireless one that gives you the most freedom. The iFrogz Tadpole Active is one such speaker that is aimed at providing good quality audio in a tiny package. Let’s dive into the review to see how the device performs.

Review – Olixar Tempered Glass Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note5

samsung_galaxy_note5_review_photo_gallery (1)

The first thing that I thought to myself when we were receiving a review unit for a screen protector is whether it is worth reviewing one. I thought about it and well it probably makes more sense than any other accessory we review for smartphones these days and that has got to do with the fact that the touchscreen is arguably the most important component of our smartphone. It serves as the medium through which we communicate, create and consume content on our devices. Without the screen, essentially the phone is useless and its kind of like the windshield on a car. So it makes perfect sense to review a screen protector especially for a flagship product such as the Samsung Galaxy Note5 whose screen is all the more impressive. So lets go ahead and check out the Olixar tempered glass protector.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ Review

s6-edge-plus-review-17

Conforming to market demands almost exclusively created by the Samsung Note series, Apple created two devices with two different screen sizes. So Samsung went ahead and released 4 devices with two different screen sizes and that’s mainly because of the success of the Galaxy S6 edge. It’s clear that the design is popular and rightly so, because it is still one of the best looking phones out there. For Samsung, it’d have been obvious to offer choice in screen sizes with the exact same form, so we have the S6 edge Plus, which was released alongside the Note 5. It’s bigger, but is it better? Let’s find out.

ZUK Z1 Review

ZUK Z1 _fonearena-03

ZUK is a new phone manufacturer that has received backing from Lenovo and the Z1 is their first smartphone. On paper, the device seems to boast quite an impressive set of features and specifications save for the older Snapdragon 801 processor that was seen in yesteryear’s smartphones. However, you can’t really write off a phone just because its processor is a bit old. After all, the OnePlus One is also powered by a Snapdragon 801 and even today, the smartphone is sought after by many and since the ZUK Z1 is also aimed at a similar price point, the phone does make sense. In this review, we take a look at how the phone performs in real life and whether that impressive specs sheets translates to an impressive all round performance in real life as well. We would also be comparing the phone to the OnePlus One which could be called its closest competitor.

Oppo R7 Plus Review

oppo_r7_plus_3

It’s been a while since Oppo launched in India however its devices haven’t received as much traction as its sister company, the OnePlus. OnePlus introduced the Oneplus One last year and the OnePlus 2 this year and both the devices are quite sought after. It’s hard to say the same thing about Oppo devices. Don’t get me wrong, Oppo makes some really good devices and they actually are willing to take the risk and try something different as seen with the Oppo N1 and N3. However, there is usually something missing or a few faults that are tough to overlook and that has been the biggest chink in its armor. Both the N1 and N3 had innovative rotating camera modules and a few other unique features but one of the biggest drawbacks was the size. The N3 mitigated the size issue and some other faults to a certain extent but wasn’t enough to really impress us. The R7 Plus seems to be the most wholesome product that the company has released in quite some time and while it isn’t a high-end smartphone, it does pack a punch. Let’s dive into the review to take a look at the phone in detail and see whether it finally overcomes the issue that most Oppo smartphones seem to have.

Samsung Galaxy Note5 Review

samsung_galaxy_note5_review_header

Every year at IFA, Samsung unveils one of the most awaited smartphones of the year, the new Note smartphone. The first Galaxy Note smartphone was met with a lot of criticism from many users and bloggers alike for being too big and being too similar to the Galaxy S II in many aspects. Many predicted that the device would fail. Since then, the Note series has come a long way. The Galaxy Note5 is the fifth iteration in the Galaxy lineup of devices. It is probably the best example of the kind of engineering and power packed smartphones that Samsung is able to produce. This year, Samsung announced the Note5 earlier than usual prior to IFA which is its usual stomping ground in an attempt to enter the market prior to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Alongside it came the Galaxy S6 edge+ which is a larger version of the S6 edge with an extra gig of RAM and a larger battery.
