Mobile World Congress 2014(MWC 2014) is just a couple of days away and we are pretty sure that Samsung will unveil their next flagship smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S5, at the unpacked event on February 24th. Just ahead of the official unveiling, Samsung has released a 37 second teaser video that highlights various features of the upcoming Galaxy S5.
Samsung is expected to announce the next iteration of Galaxy S series sometime soon and there were early rumors that Samsung will be holding an event on Feb 23rd, but it turns out that they are holding the unpacked event on Feb 24th, just on the starting day of MWC 2014. The event invite tells us that this is Samsung’s Unpacked event 5 and it also mentions it as episode 1. The event will take place in Barcelona.

Samsung is expected to change a lot of things in 2014 and it is expected to start changing things with its upcoming flagship – Samsung Galaxy S5. There have been a lot of rumors floating around regarding the specifications of the device and more importantly about the announcement and availability. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S4 earlier this year with a 5-inch Super AMOLED 1080p Display. A recent report published by the Korean news portal, DDaily states that Samsung has already begun mass production of 5.25-inch 2560 × 1440 pixels AMOLED screens for the Galaxy S5. The display will use the ‘diamond’ pixel arrangement, similar to the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3, the report says. Not even 8 months have passed since the Samsung Galaxy S4‘s launch but we are already seeing rumours and leaks of Samsung Galaxy S5 aplenty. Sure, Samsung’s flagship usually gets this attention every year, but we feel it is too soon this time. Amongst the various “leaks” floating around in the internet is one peculiar benchmark result from Browsermark. We may be wrong, but we have solid reasons why this is not the Samsung Galaxy S5. Firstly, lets see what this is all about. Apparently, an unknown device codenamed SM-G900F has appeared at the no. 3 position in Browsermark results page for Top 5 Web Phones, which some think, is the upcoming Galaxy S5. Is it?

Samsung Galaxy S5’s purported metal casing leaked recently. Now a Korean website ETNews is reporting that the Galaxy S5 would come in two variants, plastic and metal build. Samsung Galaxy S series devices usually enter mass production couple of months ahead of the launch, the new report suggests that the Galaxy S5 mass production would begin in January for March or April launch. The Galaxy S4 was announced earlier this March, and went on sale in April. So the S5 is also likely to go on sale immediately after the announcement.
